Behrad, decisions are still being made and all applicants will receive one. I don't know when the final decisions will be made, as this is handled by the deptsl.

Akash, no, we don't automatically consider rejected PhD applicants for master's programs. If you didn't apply, you have to request special consideration for the master's program.

hi will! I applied for the MS program. To my knowledge during school time a professor will be assigned to me to help my study. I want to know whether the professor is assigned by the university, or I can choose at my discretion?

Eric, you initially have a faculty academic advisor assigned to you. You can seek out a different one or ask for an additional one based on research/work interests and/or relationships with faculty that you develop.

Good morning Mr. Fenton, I applied to the Ph.D in MEAM (robotics) but I am a senior domestic undergraduate student. I was under the impression that if the department cannot accept me directly into the Ph.D would instead accept me into the MS program. I believe I was mistaken in my interpretation of the information online. Can I write to the department asking to be considered for the MS? I have not received invitation for an interview and I assume my application was not as competitive.

Felipe, I'm sorry, but this is not the case at all. All PhD applicants will receive a decision, so if you haven't received a decision yet, that's par for the course. As for requesting to be considered now for a master's program, you can do that, but they may not respond until after you receive a PhD decision.

Lucy, you can only submit new scores if the program to which you have applied hasn't had their deadline pass yet. If the deadline has passed we won't consider new scores.

But sir in the website it was mentioned rejected PhD candidates would be considered for the master's program and if not how do I request for consideration, I hope it's not too late for that. I went with the website which didn't mention about requesting separately.
