Guest, it has sent out a number of interview requests. They are still in the process of sending out decisions. All applicants will receive a decision.

Vipul, not all programs do interviews, and some PhD programs will admit some applicants without doing any interviews, so I really can't say.

Hi Will, if all applicant in Energy were better than nano system, would you consider to admit the latter applicants? Even though they have different concentrations, they all apply for MS in Mechanical Engineering.

Yurui, no, we don't admit students for a different program. They have to apply for the program to which they are admitted.

I am a CIS PhD applicant and I had an informal skype call with one of the professors one month ago. I have not received any update after that. I tried to contact the professor twice but he refuses to reply. If it is a rejection, could you guys simply send it out? On your website, you say that you try to send out notifications 6-8 weeks but it has been 10 weeks now. I do not want to wait like this, knowing completely nothing about my status and I want to move on with other plans because I have other offers.

Mary, unfortunately, we can't send any decisions out until the department has made their decision. I understand your frustration, but I can literally not send anything out until the department tells us the decision. And I am sorry that the faculty member has not responded to your additional emails.
