One more question Mr. Fenton and I do apologize if it was already asked. About how long after submitting the PhD application is an admissions decision released? Is there a relative timetable of say a month? I only ask because I know it is rolling admissions.

Matt, we have previously stated that we try to release them in 6-8 weeks, but we've recently stopped, because the majority of our depts have not been able to hold to that timetable. So unfortunately, I can't really give you a number at this point.

My guide is a distinguished alumnus from UPenn. He did'n give me reco this time and neither do I have any publication. Do i still have chances for getting an admit in CIS PhD program?

Xyz, yes, all applicants have a chance, and applicants will receive a decision.

No I mean. Before Te decision if here is any document requirement.. Will I get an email regarding that? How do I check on document.. Say transcript submission etc.. As I m still in Final year Engg??

Prajakta, you can log into your application account and it will show you if we haven't received specific materials for you. We would also contact you if you are missing any required materials.

If I'm accepted to the online program, I'd love to take a field trip on campus to meet the professors and see the school! Fingers crossed! :-) Is there such an opportunity for the online students already in place?

Lisset, you can always come to campus, as you would receive an ID and you'll have campus access. However, I recommend you contact the program specifically about setting a potential visit up, by emailing onlinelearning@seas.upenn.edu. Joshua, all scores, grades, etc, can affect one's chances of getting in. But we review the entire application, so the quant score is just one piece of many that are considered.

Lbl, no, there's no "waitlist." The depts will release any decisions they've made up to that point.

There is another question, is there some restriction about applying double degree? Or where can I find related information.

Guolin, you can't apply for a double degree for when you first start. However, you can apply for a second program once you've completed at least one semester in good standing.

Sam, they could be sent on any of the four dates.

Prajakta, yes. If you are admitted you'll need to send proof of your final degree before you start school, but we will admit based on the degree you are projected to receive when you graduate.

Sky, we will consider it if the exam was taken before the application deadline. If it was taken after Dec 15, then we don't consider those scores.
