Hello Dr. Fenton. I am wondering for the Penn Engineering's interdisciplinary projects and researches, in which way a student can find those opportunities. Huiyang, great question! You can reach out directly to the program to express your interest, as well as individual professors and/or the Research groups. It can be very self-driven.

My question is - the TOELF is apparently optional for international students who have completed a 4yr bachelor in the U.S. Based on this I completed the link to WAIVE this req. Nonetheless, every now and then I still receive an email from Penn's application server that I still need to submit the TOEFL scores. I am assuming this is just an automated message. But want to make sure... should I ignore it?

Rod, please email your question to gradstudies@seas.upenn.ed and I can check. You need to have studied at least 3 years at an english-instruction school to be able to qualify for the waiver, not just graduate from one.

Is it possible to obtain the recommendation letters that are submitted with the admissions package? Also, the MCIT Online website states that early applications will have a decision April 15 for the Fall 2019 academic year: is that still accurate?

Justin, you can only access your letters of recommendation if you are admitted and if you did not waive your right to see them. And yes, the date is still accurate.

Katherine, there are 3 interview weekends and the depts are scheduling those now.

Daniel, we don't release the avg GPA, but last year we had 747 applicants and we admitted about 9%

Harry, you will be notified when a decision, including placed on a waitlist, which we try not to do, is made.

Archit, yes, if the program has two deadlines. But if it's just one deadline, it doesn't make as much of a difference.
