Srajni, that should still be fine, most likely.

Dear Prof. I am a PhD applicant. I understand that I need to send official transcripts and degree certificates if I am offered admission. Is there a deadline for these to reach UPenn Grad School?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:32
yes, we ask for those to be submitted by June 1 if you are admitted and choose to attend. If you can't make that deadline, we ask for you to tell us and we will probably work with you.
Changrui
10:32
I want to know if it is possible to be supervised by faculties for MS program
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:32
Changrui, yes, it is.
Jayi
10:32
Will, two LORs have already been submitted before the deadlines, one more is yet to submit. So whether that will be considered?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:32
Jayi, the 3rd one will most likely not be considered at this time.

Hi Will, I have applied for PhD in Electrical and Systems Engineering program. I would like to know when the result or decision for it will be declared
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:33
Priyadarshini, we don't have a set date for when you'll get a decision, but we try to send them out within 8 weeks of the deadline.

Hi there again Mr. Fenton.
I have 2 doubts about the checklist on my application (email: sschreyasramachandran@gmail.com) for MSE Robotics:
1. For GRE, it says received on Checklist, I had sent 2 scores through ETS, one that was on Nov 28 2018 and another test scores that was Dec 31 2018. I want to know if both of them reached you, as the later is a higher score than the earlier.
2. In checklist, English Proficiency Status says Waived, what does that mean, as I said, I had sent the IELTS score through Airmail and it should have reached you
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:34
Shreyas, please email gradstudies@seas.upenn.edu and we can check.
Feng Chen
10:34
Hello Will, For the interview, will we have the interview online or are we going to go to UPenn to attend the interview?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:34
Feng Chen, you would most likely do it over the phone or on Skype/internet

Hi Will, Thanks for hosting this session. I have applied for Masters in Robotics (GRASP lab), would you be able to provide a tentative date for when the decisions will be rolled out?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:34
Guest, you'll receive it on April 5th
Justin
10:34
sorry to bombard you with the same question, but my chats aren't going through.
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:35
Justin, I have answered your question - no, you don't have access unless you are admitted AND you didn't waive your access to them. Also, April 15th is when you'll get a decision.

Hi Will, I want to ask how important is the GRE score and what the importance proportion is when you consider a application ?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:35
Link, GRE score is just one part, it is important but I can't say a specific % of the application package.
Han

Hi Will, what was the acceptance rate for Bioengineering PhD program after interviews for last year? They have the statistics from 2016-17, but I would like to know what the recent ones are, thank you!
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:38
BE Applicant, about 20% are interviewed, the majority are admitted.
Jing
10:38
Sorry. I applied the MSE PhD program, but I still haven't received the campus visit. Does this mean that i dont have any chance to be admitted? thanks
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:38
Jing, the depts schedule these, so I can't say.
Manny
10:38
I have only one recommendation letter submitted so far. How does that impact my application since the deadline is already passed? Could they go ahead with the review?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:39
Manny, we don't review incomplete applications.
Rafael

You said that CIS PhD admissions are handled in a rolling basis. After an interview, how long is normal to wait to hear back from the department? If it has been a couple of weeks should I assume that I haven't been accepted?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:39
Rafael, it's normally a couple of weeks after the interview, or it may be a few days. Unfortunately, we don't have a set schedule.
James

Hi, Will. I read through some transcripts of earlier chats. I noticed that you said you were unaware of whether MEAM conducts interviews for PhD candidates. Then you mentioned most applicants are interviewed. But then somewhere on a an admissions website I believe I saw that they are not required. Just looking for some clarification.
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:40
No, all of our PhD programs do interviews. I'm sorry if that wasn't clear. But not all admitted students go through interviews - some are so good they're in without one. So they aren't required.
