Hi Will,
I have applied to MS in MCIT, whose priority deadline was 15th November and I submitted my application before the same. But, on the portal, the application shows as "Sent" on 09:07 AM, November 15, 2019 (PST) and "Confirmed" on 12:08 AM, November 16, 2019 (PST).

I am confused, why are these two dates different? Will I be considered for the early deadline?

Saurabh, your application account should show a message telling you if you are being considered for the early application decision or not. The two different dates show when you sent in the application and when our enrollment specialists reviewed your application.

Hi. I have two applications on different programs. I'm qualified for waiving my English proficiency test. However, one application is ready for review but another one still holds requesting my English proficiency test. Is there anything I should do? Thanks!
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
10:42
Kui, which program hasn't waived the test yet?

Mostafa

Hi, Is the admission based on only one professor's review or is it a committee based decision?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
10:42
Mostafa, it is usually both.

Hi Will, the link you've provided for the Career Services Graduate Funding page seems to direct me to the home page instead. Is there an updated link for this?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
10:43
Guest, sorry about that. Here is the new link: https://careerservices.upenn.edu/post-graduate-outcomes/. They must have updated it at some point recently. Thanks for letting me know.

Hello Sunny again, my second question is, what is the minimum GRE Quant and verbal score required for the admissions committee to at least look into my application? The Upenn webpage shares the average scores but not the cutoff or minimum scores required.
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
10:45
Sunny, that's because we don't have minimum score requirements. Unfortunately, that is not information that we currently share.

Is there any statistics about average GPA/GRE for successful biotech master students
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
10:45
Abduljabbar, unfortunately we don't have that information to share at this time.

AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist

Hi Qaisar, We had 924 applicants for the CIS program. Decisions are sent on a rolling basis and they should start going out in the next 2-3 weeks.

Hello, I applied for PhD degree in Electrical & Systems Engineering. Roughly speaking, how many admitted ESE - PHD  students did SEAS accept last year? What are the major factors mostly gonna be taken in account since it is a competitive pool? Secondly, what is the expected deadline for the decisions regarding for the PhD applicants?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
10:48
Abdul, last year we admitted 45 applicants. Decisions are released on a rolling basis and should start going out in the next 2-3 weeks. As for the review process, we take a holistic approach to reviewing the application, so we review all aspects of the application, personal statement and letters of recommendation.

Hi Will.  I applied for PhD in CS. I received an email on Dec. 27 from Sherry Ferraiolo that my GRE scores had not been received. It was a mistake on my part, I had not ordered the score report from the ETS. I just ordered the score report last night (Jan. 7), and hoping the score will be received in time. I received my scores and reported them on the application, but Penn has not received the official scores yet.  (1) How long will it take to receive them?  (2) Will my application be considered in the meantime?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
10:50
Blake, if you submitted your unofficial scores on the application, then it is fine and we were able to start the review. If you hadn't submitted the unofficial scores on the application, then your application may have not been looked at yet, since we didn't have all of the necessary information. That usually means it will take longer for you to receive a decision.

Hi, What is the reason for two admit roll out dates? (Jan 15 and Feb 15) ! what does it mean, when the student doesn't receive an admit on Jan 15
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
10:51
Jaideep, this is so that faculty have enough time to review all of the applications and make their decisions.

Hi Will. I noticed that I have entered the wrong undergraduate study beginning date. I wrote Jun 2016 instead of august 2016. Could you please tell me how can I solve the problem or it is okay?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
10:51
Yiwei, you can send us an email correcting this - to which program did you apply?
