Similiarily to Karo I am thinking of applying  to university in the US and I was wondering if applying to international universities or is it just UK universities?
AvatarJames

@Guest - 9am-5pm would be at university in sessions (as you would be as a student) and then evenings we do fun social activities

@Guest, if we can help? We can support the best we can, but we aren't experts in international application processes like we are with UCAS. Happy to help you though!

Hi @heyyyyy. Good question. That's really up to you and how well you are able to articulate how and why RfE has been useful in your personal statement.
heyyyyyy
4:36
can we write our personal statements to you or do we come in the university for you to check how we done and help us improve
AvatarShauni
4:37
@heyyyy we offer 1-1 personal statement appointments in Sept/Oct where we can check your statement and give advice on how to improve it :)

Sannah

Hi, is there any way that universities will lower the GCSE grade that you have to have when you apply? Or can it be lowered on an individual basis?

Thank you

will the personal statement appointment be before the medicine and denstry deadline
AvatarJames
4:38
@GUESTt - yes we run them early before the med/dent deadline :)
GUESTt
4:38
ok thanks
AvatarShauni
4:38
@Sannah you will have to check each uni you are interested in and see what their policies are. There is also the option of doing a foundation year (sort of like a year zero) if you don't meet the entry requirements
AvatarMatthew

Hi @Anam. No, unfortunately not, this is something you'll have to organise yourself. Sorry!

Hi I currently study Art, Drama and History but I realised I want to study Astrophysics at university should I retake year 12?
AvatarShauni
4:40
@Guest at Leeds it's AAB including Physics and Mathematics.
4:41
@Guest you'd probably need Physics and Maths to study astrophysics anywhere!
Zahra

Hi, i have heard that it is possible to take a 6 year course in medicine at Leeds Uni with the grade boundaries at BBC. Is that true?
AvatarShauni
4:43
@Guest I think you should chat to your tutors in school! See what they think and whether you could take one of these A Levels next year - lots of students take an extra year or 2 to complete college because they changed their mind or decided to resit.
Guest

So should i just give up on my dream to be an astrophysicist?
AvatarShauni
4:43
@Guest oops, see above!
AvatarMatthew
4:44
Hi @Zaynab. You really need to come to Get set for Uni 2 as it's a bit early to be answering questions about this. Currently the answer would be no, you need to apply to one or the other. But this may change when the eligibility criteria for this coming year is finalized/published.

what happens in getting ready for uni part 1
AvatarShauni
4:45
@Guest what it says on the tin! We look at the uni experience, making the most out of open days, the benefits of a research intensive uni and get you started on your journey to applying - it's a really popular event!!!!
