Hi Brent! Thanks for these chats! For H2H points, can you rank ROS Happ, Bleday, J. Duran, H. Hernandez? With so little time left, it’s hard to separate guys significantly in the CDG.

I'd probably go Duran first — scary BA, but the most HR+SB juice here. Then likely Bleday, Hernandez and Happ. Taking the younger guys over prev steady but looks like declining veteran in Happ.

Hi Brent, In a Dynasty League and looking ahead for the next few years. What do you expect Cam Smith's Numbers to be? How about Luis Lara? I know they are different type players, but who would you rather keep and would you keep someone like Nootbaar over either of them for the next 2-3 years? Thanks

I'm still a Cam believer, especially in a dynasty league. So young, and early on showed physical (raw power/speed) and mental tools (great AB to begin his rookie year) with that high-prospect pedigree. Growing pains for sure, but he's one I'd be patient on; think there's 20/20 in his future there at least, with a really big ceiling. Lara probably has more speed that Smith, but doesn't have the pop of Smith. And yes, both over Nootbaar in a dynasty context.

IF Joyce can stay healthy, is he closing soon for the Angels and do you think he can be consistent enough to keep the job long-term?

First part ... yes. It's the second part that's the crux of the issue. Don't really have enough sample size over his career to know for sure. But right now, he's certainly the fave in the org for that job; if they don't add a late-inning guy in the offseason, it will probably be his to lose heading into 2027.

  1. Feel like he's AAA depth for the Cubs, so yea, can probably move on
  2. Too early to say ... wish he wouldn't have left his last start with that minor hamstring thing. But (small sample) he has pitched better overall since his recall. I'm giving his 2-start week a go in a few places.

I have a dynasty question for you this morning that I've asked a few places, as I always appreciate your perspective.

Endy Rodriguez vs. Moises Ballesteros

For the next 2-3 years, who do you think provides the most fantasy value? Who has the highest ceiling?

Moises seems to be the popular choice, but Endy's profile is quite intriguing. The "only" looming concern seems to be health.

What do you think?

You don't mention whether position eligibility matters, and that could play a role here. Long-term, feel like Endy is more likely to claim a role behind the dish than Ballesteros. So if you're looking catcher beyond next year, that might be enough to swing it to Endy.

Otherwise, I'd agree with that 'popular' choice. Ballesteros' hit tool is just too good; he'll find a way to stay in a lineup fairly regularly as he matures. And there will be enough power there to satisfy.

Slight preference to Cruz, but could see Pearson getting a few when they use Cruz in a critical spot pre-9th inning. If Pearson can figure out his command (a long-term issue), he could provide some nice value.

Thanks for the chat.  Do you see any short term hope for Gunnar Henderson?  Long term?  I have him benched in several leagues but wondering if he's dropaple.

Ugh ... I don't think he's droppable, but could be benchable, yes. Numbers just really tanked; not quite at a Vlad level but in that vein. I still believe in Gunnar long-term; he's too young with too much pedigree at a premium position to not be interested. But short-term? Might just be that 2026 is a washout.

Conine seems a bit under the radar, but his metrics are impressive. Hernandez easy #2, then rest are kinda in a group for me; pick one. I'd rank em Ortiz, Horwitz, Rodriguez.

Been cursed by big injuries all year.. is their hope to get any fantasy goodness yet our of Oneil Cruz, Konnor Griffin, Daniel Palencia (3 saves this year!) and Edward Cabrera?

Sounds like Palencia and Cabrera are the closest to return, and Palencia has a role waiting for him, right? Cabrera is next most likely, but his track record performancewise has been spotty. Griffin next, b/c even if it's September, his category juice is real. Then Cruz

Discussed Painter a bit above. Yes, given the success PIT has had with some of those other arms, I'd be interested in Mlodzinski at that price, both for now and possibly as a keeper.

hi brent-NL only, traditional categories with saves only (no holds). we have two bench spots...now Bohm (only hitter) and Romano, decision is to use FAAB for Mize or B Garcia to replace either or both. Dont have alot of FAAB vs competition but have a little

Keep Bohm. Think either of those pitchers are upgrades over Romano. With as good as Mize had been in the AL, there's a good chance that first disaster SD outing was a blip.

AL only, saves/HOLDS.  Can you enlighten me as to what happened to Sabrowski?  He was Rolling in first half with many Holds and Ks, then injury... now he cannot find the plate.
