Hello, crew! Great to have you all here again; queue is well-stocked but always room for more. Feel free to add on as we go.
12:00
One bit of promo ... our next discount deadline for First Pitch Arizona in November is this FRIDAY. Will be posting more info on it this week on this page. Hope to see you there!

Hey Brent, thanks for taking my question. Swanson CHC to the IL. How would you rank the following to replace him: Lee MIN, McNeil A’s, Gimenez TOR, Holliday BAL, Bohm PHI? Thanks
Brent Hershey
12:02
With those choices, I'd ride the hot hand for now ... Bohm or Lee, probably. But would keep an eye on the others, esp if Holliday continues to hit.

12:06
Hey Brent. For the rest of the season would you rather have Cameron KC or May MIL? Thanks
Brent Hershey
12:06
New tool alert for subscribers! Last week, we debuted a player comparison tool, found here: https://www.baseballhq.com/tools/player-compare
ROS projections are pretty close ... but if wins are a primary consideration, you have to like May's situation a bit better. Otherwise, Cameron edges him out.

Gave up a cheap keeper worthy guy for Kyle Tucker at our trade deadline last night. (Im in 4th and need to hit on a few gambles). So... umm does praying somebody finds their own level soon actually work? I mean God cares about my fantasy team doesnt he?
Brent Hershey
12:09
Pretty sure God does not, sorry to say :-). In your situation (time of year, gambles, etc), I'd say this process is solid. Tucker has done it before, is in a great situation, etc. But boy, the season has been so underwhelming ... Continue to say those prayers ....

Hey Brent, for saves ROS - how would you rank the following: Montgomery PIT, Weaver PIT, Harris OAK, Senga METs, Scott  LAD, Natera LAA? Thanks
Brent Hershey
12:10
Senga, Harris, Mont, Scott, Weaver, Natera. Pretty set on the first two; could flip those. Sounds like something could be wrong with Weaver, too.
Blue Duck
12:11
NL only.  Sounds like Wrobleski is no longer going to be in the Starting rotation once he comes back.  Is this how you see it?   So he is a drop.  (I should be grateful for the ride I got for him?)
Brent Hershey
12:11
Yes, drop; yes, always be grateful.
Brent Hershey
12:15
Apologies ... just deleted a  question/response on going with Mahle this week (yes to 2-step); and going 1-start Gray and Cavalli instead of weaker 2s (Soriano and someone else). Would take those one-start matchups. And sorry for whoever submitted that!

12:16
In a 12 tm h2h pts league, would you start Hunter Brown vs ATH, Bryce Miller @MIL, vs CHC; Christian Javier vs LAA, vs ATH?
Brent Hershey
12:16
If only one of those pitchers, I would start Brown. Don't quite trust Javier yet, and will stay away from MIL at home.
Ollie
12:17
How excited should we be about Joshua Baez in keeper leagues?  Ty!
Brent Hershey
12:17
Very. Lotsa Ks, so COULD be streaky. But the power/speed combo looks real.

AL only 5x5  ROS Springer or robles Mateo or walls, kittredge or  grant taylor  cabballero or springer and bello or bibee thank you Brent!
Brent Hershey
12:18
Springer, Walls, Taylor, Caballero, Bibee

12:19
$x4 AL only ros massey or manasterio, thank you Brent!
Brent Hershey
12:19
Massey ... feel like Monasterio would get squeezed for PT once the Sox get some guys back, even though he's been a lifesaver here in their recent run.

12:21
Since returning to MLB in August, Luis Mey has 10 Ks and 0 BB. Is he working his way into closer consideration for 2027 with a strong finish this year?
Brent Hershey
12:21
With Pagán under contract for $10M in 2027, I wouldn't get too excited, especially with how much Francona seems to love Pagán. But Mey is definitely worth tracking if he can sustain this improved control.

Hello Brent! Thanks for these. NL 10 team 5x5 - no chance for victory but perhaps 4th place for me. I waited until painter proved himself & waited until Cabrera pitched some rehab then activated both of them for yesterday’s slaughter. Do I keep them & hope for better results or are they droppable for Kent or Junk or mid relievers?
Brent Hershey
12:25
I still have some faith in Painter, for sure. He's shown some really good glimpses (putting together strings of good innings) since this most recent recall. Still 6 weeks to go, but he could be setting himself up for nice 2027. Just rookie inconsistency. Cabrera's injury bug always is there. If you can hack that risk, then worth keeping. He's going to have more value during offseason than Kent or Junk I'd think.
Blue Duck
12:26
NL only.  Desperate for any SBs I can find ROS:  GArias, Frelick, CNorby, JBeck... Please rank.  (Thanks for tolerating our questions Brent!)
Brent Hershey
12:26
Not a problem, 'tis the job! With SB as the ask, I'd rank Frelick, Beck, Arias, Norby. Not a convicted rank here, though.

12 team H2H redraft points league. With DeLauter going down what are your thoughts on Lawrence Butler?  ATH also face 6 SP this week.
Brent Hershey
12:27
One to ride in this situation. Heating up. Do it.
Blue Duck
12:29
How do you think Davis Martin will return?  Worth holding onto?  I guess I can answer my own question by saying there is nothing on the wire.... but your prediction anyway please.  thanks!
Brent Hershey
12:29
Yeah, he'll return ... but worth it? Has had a super ugly stretch since early July that doesn't trend well. Team context is good ... but I think I'd be careful. Always depends on other options, and he may be better than those.

Hi Brent,
Mixed, 12-team weekly H2H points (saves+holds).
Who should I drop among these four closers:
Beeter
B Garcia
O'Brien
Joyce
Brent Hershey
12:30
Beeter; fairly easily. The remaining trio each have a better likelihood of running off a set of saves in the short term.

10 team nl only 6x6… looking for holds ros. Any sleeper names? I’m looking at zuber and Dodd right now
Brent Hershey
12:34
Those are fine ... maybe Alex McFarlane in Philly? Stick to good teams, of course
Mugghead
12:37
What are your expectations for Matt Wilkinson?
Brent Hershey
12:37
Still seems like a reliever profile to me in the end, but has had 10 good starts at AAA. Will likely get some starts in SF; I'd keep expectations low
TexGent
12:39
Are Carrigg and Ewing good for streals the rest of the way?
Brent Hershey
12:39
Don't see why not; we've got both of them in the 8-9 range ROS. Hat tip, https://www.baseballhq.com/tools/player-compare again.

10-team roto league; L> are either montes or Velazquez getting the call in the next couple of weeks? And if they did, might they make a roto impact?
