Hi Brent, Thanks for answering this post. As always, any advice is appreciated.

16 team, H2H points league.

Start Willson Contreras this week. Injury news is concerning.
Thank again. These chats are always informative.

Would look for alternatives.

Are Samad Taylor or Matt Shaw going to get PT ROS? Ramirez may have made Shaw bench-worthy but I don’t see much blocking Taylor
Brent Hershey
12:58
Would agree for the most part; Shaw's positional flexibility in real life a big asset, though.

In AL-only league. What September call-ups do you foresee that could be impactful for teams in the final month?

Hello!  Happy September (crazy), Mixed League 5x5, $260 cap, we have a weird waiver system where I can pick up someone for $6 and keep them next year - and of these worth it - Elvis ALvarado, Y Gomez, B Hudson or a SP - Tayler Mahle?  A hitter? Tristan Peters?   Or is there a rookie I should look for?
Brent Hershey

Gomez, Alvarado would be my choices. Maybe Peters.

Hi Brent,  Thank you for the weekly talks this season.  2nd round of playoffs and only 5 moves per week.  I've looked at the daily pitcher tool but would like your thoughts too.  Pitchers per the tool that I'm looking at adding Prielipp, Sandoval and Kay.  Pitchers I'd drop, Kremer, Jacob Lopez and Andrew Alvarez.  Also available Bennett, Grayson Rodriguez and Zebby.

Sandoval and Kay more than Prielipp. Would prioritize Bennett and consider keeping Alvarez. Good luck!

NL-only, 12-team, 5 x 5. Dog fight for first, with wins, Ks, runs, SB, and RBI extremely tight. Rank the following free agents for ROS help: Thomas Saggese, Junior Marte, Mason Adams, Shay Whitcomb, Nolan Gorman. Thanks.

Saggese, Whitcomb, Gorman. Not a fan of the pitchers.

Hi Brent - last H2H question this week, more next week if I win.  I need to set my 3B for a week.  Please rank Arenado 6 games, Gelof 7 on the road or CES with 7 games.  Thanks for all the advice and perspective!
Brent Hershey

Gelof, as most likely to get all 7. Hope to see you next week!

Need to add a 2B or 3B bat. 12-team 5x5 with OBP. Handful of interesting options out there. Who do you prefer ROS: CES, Pedro Ramirez, Brooks Lee, Edman, Mayo, Antonacci, Sogard? Looking for all-around consistent production heading into H2H playoffs, though HR is the biggest team need.

Risky b/c of youth, but Ramirez stands out; then take the Mayo shot. Lee could be fine, too.

I am in a 10-team, NL-only league, and I have managed to claw my way to the top of the standings, but the pitching categories are still very close.  I got Mize with a big FAB bid, and I got Boyd through a trade, but they've been shaky so it's tough to trust them.  I need wins and Ks, but I can't afford a big hit to my ERA and WHIP.  Should I just run them out there and hope for the best, or only play them in good matchups?  Thank you so much for your advice!

Probably just run em out there, especially in an NL only. Trust those original decisions you made for a reason!

I am facing down an OF logjam with Roman Anthony and James Wood returning. Current OF is Tucker, Butler, McCarthy, and Josh Baez, and will need to cut one. Also eyeing H. Hernandez on waivers after his big week. Butler seems too locked in to drop for now, and I need McCarthy's SB. That leaves Baez and Tucker. So, two questions: (1) is it insane to consider cutting Tucker to hold Baez? And, (2) would you prefer H. Hernandez over any of the above players?
Brent Hershey

1) Assuming this is a redraft, not at all insane. Baffling season; you can't fault yourself if Tucker somehow goes bonkers in the last 4 weeks. No sign of it at all right now.
2) I would not, no.

Got em! Thanks as always; will miss this hour every week once we take a fall break. But for now ... best of luck either in your H2H playoffs, OR down the stretch in your season-long leagues. We'll catch up again next week!
