NL only, 5x5, no $ concerns.  Who would you rather have in 2023: Sean Manaea or Bailey Falter?
Brent Hershey
12:58
What you know, or what you don't know ... Been super disappointed in Manaea, esp over the past 6 weeks or so. There are elements of Falter that I'm intrigued by ... but not sure he's a big part of the SP future at least in Philly at this time. Tough one, but I'd go the veteran. At least given health, he'll be starting somewhere. Falter could still be swing/bullpen piece in 2023.

Detmers streamable ag. Houston or best to avoid Houston matchups?
Brent Hershey

Surprised how much our ratings like him. Some surprising 'meh' starters have done well v HOU. Considering it this week.

Hi Brent:
Need your advice for a weekly points league. (1) Does Holmes get a save chance right away in NY?
For scoring favoring HR, RBI, and SB,
(2) start Gordon over J. Baez or A. Velazquez at SS;
(3) start Nootbaar over L. Robert, McCarthy, G. Sheets or R. Grossman at OF; and
(4) start Tucker (5 games) over McCarthy (7 games)?
Brent Hershey

1) Given the current state of the pen, I think so
2)Yes
3)McCarthy
4)Tucker

Redraft league need to start only 1 RP and I have Doval and Hader. With only 5 weeks left in the season I'm thinking of dropping Hader. Another 6 ER in 1/3 IP yesterday, seems completely lost.

Agree; noted above

Playoffs coming up (14-team, H2H0. Need your advice on streamable pitching. Looking at Dunning, Civale, Falter, and C. Schmidt. Leaning toward Falter because of matchup. Maybe Schmidt if he geta a start. Advice, please.
Brent Hershey

The Dunning two-step rates the highest for us. Falter OK; our model doesn't like Schmidt this week

12-team mixed H2H points league, SB, R, RBI all have the same value. Thoughts on dropping Josh Bell and going with Walker, thoughts on dropping McCutchen and L Gurriel and going with Corbin Carroll. This is ROS and playoffs.
Brent Hershey

In a points, would think Bell still favorable to Walker. Would not move Gurriel for CC; though would take that shot w/ Cutch

Playing in a Sv/Holds league. Please rank the following with playoffs coming: Theilbar, J. Hernandez, Hughes, Raley, and Vesia. Love your work, Brent. Thanks so much.

4x4 ROS Bello or German? Thankl you, and yes it was Jonathon
Brent Hershey

German ROS ... though again, our model likes Bello a lot this week (just risky due to inexperience)

Have been rolling with Edman as my 2B but disappointed with the loss of PT / drop in the batting order / resulting SBO dropoff. Would you consider any of the following to be an upgrade ROS in terms of all around production (5x5 OBP): Segura, India, Paredes, Hiura, Wong?
Brent Hershey

I'd only consider Segura, largely b/c of that monster of a lineup around him. He's def not going to give you the SBs that Edman would. Overall, I'd still just probably stay the course with Edman, but Segura could be ample replacement.

Brent, are you a Garrett Mitchell believer?!

GBC!

I will need to be convinced, and am aware of what he's done at AAA. But mostly watching from afar at the moment. Good luck, though!

That's it! Thanks to all for the great convo, questions, and kind words. Keep the course here over the next weeks, especially for those of you who have the football itch! Bunch of great baseball content planned through the end of the season at BHQ; check it out when you can. See ya'll next week!
