I'm having a hard time figuring out Ohtani's value in a league where he is one player eligible as DH/SP. I can keep him at $16 in a 16 team mixed--there's upside for top-20 overall there, right?
Brad Johnson
4:08
Everybody is having trouble with that. What I can say is he's a must-keep at $16.

Hey Brad, what's your approach to drafting pitching in an Ottoneu FGpts league?
Brad Johnson
4:08
Stars and dart-throws at soft contact/GB guys.
4:09
Randy Dobnak, Brad Keller, guys of that nature.
I'll also stab at high K-rate guys with short track records like Austin Voth and Alec Mills.
4:10
I want my SPs to be either very good or else very cheap. Then I'll just pick and choose only the very best matchups for the cheapies.
That's the ideal, sometimes you're dealt a more difficult hand and have to make more a mid-tier approach work. It's... harder.

If the price were the same would you rather have Julio Urias or Luis Robert?
Brad Johnson
4:11
I think Robert, but it's a little situational.
And Urias is certainly a safer player.
I know I'll have more Urias shares than Robert.
I doubt I'll have even 1 Robert share.

Which one would you say is the better bet for any contribution this year and maybe longer term -- L.Urias or C.Kieboom?
Brad Johnson

Kieboom

Everything I read about Luke Weaver forecast doom and gloom.  Does he regress some from last year or do we see something close to 2018 from him?
Brad Johnson
4:13
I don't see a reason to be pessimistic. He's probably a 3.75 ERA guy with a healthy K-rate and good WHIP.
The only downside is it sounds like he'll be limited to about 25 starts. But that could change.

Kale. Broccoli. Cabbage. Cauliflower. Brussels Sprouts. Bok Choy. All cruciferous vegetables. Pick the ones you like to eat and ignore the rest.

Who would you rather have in dynasty: Oscar Mercado, Trent Grisham, Tommy Edman? Also considering Sam Hilliard and Mauricio Dubon in that spot. Anyone jump out as not belonging in that group?
Matt Chapman
4:13
Also radishes & arugala.
Brad Johnson
4:14
I like all of those veg. Except cabbage sucks.
Strong preference for Edman personally.

Odds Kimbrel is done and Wick rises to closer?
Brad Johnson
4:14
Wick really doesn't strike me as a good closer candidate even if he is one of the best on hand. I think Kimbrel will get a nice long leash.

How does your NFBC draft look through 3 rounds if you have pick #7?
Brad Johnson
4:15
I've had pick 6 in Tout and TGFBI (similar setup).
Tout: Cole, Yordan, Biebs
4:16
TGFBI: Mookie, Strasburg, Altuve

Edman is overrated!! There I said it.  Somebody had to.
Brad Johnson
4:16
Maybe. Or he's very special
He is not correctly rated right now. I'm pretty confident of that.
4:18
The downside is 400 PA with like 10/10 and a down-order lineup role.
The upshot is 650 PA with all eligibility, 20/25, top of the order R/RBI opps, and a .300 AVG.

Do you buy the news that I'm going to start the season batting 3rd? If so, do you see me as a decent late ADP option for MI?
Brad Johnson
4:18
I'm skeptical, but I do have a lot of late shares just in case.
4:19
I'm seeing potential for something like 2018 Jed Lowrie.
Don Von Handburger
4:19
Seager or Correa for my shortstop?  I have a bench and the room to roster a second SS-eligible player if that affects your fancy pancy answer.
Brad Johnson
4:19
EZ Correa imo.

Are you seeing shades of Giancarlo/Judge in Yordan Alvarez, with regards to being so big physically his body wears down? I own him cheap in my keeper league, should i try to sell high right now?
