Yankees have to set him free first.
If they squander his peak seasons on the bench, then yea, he probably won't be more than a 4th OFer
Rockies fan

I’m excited for all the young players in Colorado as well as Nolan sticking around, but do you think we see B.Rodgers this year?  I’m guessing maybe not with Hampson/McMahon, but holding out hope
Brad Johnson

The outlook on Rodgers tends to vary wildly depending on who you talk to
There's certainly a lot of red flags in his profile
So his adjustment to the majors almost certainly won't be clean
Philly fanatic

Tell me Scott Kingery will improve upon last year.  Not a huge commitment from the Phillies, but a commitment nonetheless.  Serviceable?
Brad Johnson
4:20
For fantasy purposes, probably not
I think he'll be better in a real capacity
4:21
And maybe one of the better utility guys in the league

Am I really such a weirdo for thinking that strikeouts are thrilling?
Brad Johnson
4:21
I used to feel this way
Back when David Robertson's 10.5 K/9 as a non-closer was unheard of
Like anything, familiarity breeds contempt
4:22
(same for home runs)
These days, I want to see an entire league of Willians Astudillo
Backend starter
4:22
Better back end starter in 2019 for San Diego?  Strahm or Paddock?
Brad Johnson
4:22
Paddack, but Strahm is looking like a fun bet too

swap Heaney for J. Urias? QS, Sv+Hld league
Brad Johnson
4:23
I'd try it
Can probably swap back if Urias doesn't nab a SP role

On Saturday I drafted in a 12 team Yahoo "pro" league.  I grabbed Kershaw at the end of round 9. Is he falling too far in drafts? Seems crazy to get him that late.
Brad Johnson
4:23
Probably falling a little too far. Time will tell I suppose

Should I take Justin Upton to be my 4th OF and part-time Util, or Grandal to be my starting C?
Brad Johnson
4:24
Seems like a fairly shallow league. I'd nab Grandal and trust other bats will be there for UT work

Yu like Yu Darvish or Robbie Ray-Ray this year?
Brad Johnson
4:24
I like 'em both although I somehow have zero shares of either
So I guess I don't like 'em much

Most value this season (normal 5x5 rot) - Anthony Alford, Cavan Biggio, or Matt Thaiss?
Brad Johnson
4:25
I don't really expect any of them to contribute in 2019. Lemme double check real quick though.
4:26
Yea, I think you need a new list
4:27
Alford's like an 8th OFer, can't hit. Scouts uniformly hate Biggio, although he's getting to that point where if he keeps performing, they'll have to change their tune.
Still, it's not hard to see the fault lines in his stats. Thaiss is maybe a league average hitter and very thoroughly blocked

How do you think Renfroe fares in our crowded OF?  I liked how he finished last season and if you can x2 that, you have an all-star.

I've labelled him the next Khris Davis/Mark Trumbo: https://www.patreon.com/posts/next-khris-davis-20696563
4:29
But playing time is very much a concern in 2019.
Could easily see Franmil and Myers completely usurping him.

If you were an A's fan and bought a reptile, would you name it Jesus Lizardo?
Brad Johnson

Absolutely have thought about this

where do you see the shallow spots that you would try to go elite?
