I have Turner in a keeper league...who is a mid/late round ss with upside I may target until turner qualifies at SS?
Brad Johnson
11:13
Didn't mean to put two up at once...
11:14
Paul, Chris Owings comes to mind as a should-be-free, upside play
Zack Cozart's a more boring option
11:16
Polo, I don't have any great options for you yet. Maybe Chase De Jong if the Dodgers need a 34th SP
Duane
11:16
Do you think Robert Gsellman could be the best rookie pitcher this year?
Brad Johnson
11:16
Definitely could be

Re: Peraza.. acceptable starting option in a 12 teamer or nah?
Brad Johnson
11:17
Yea, acceptable
especially standard deep rosters (i.e. 5 OF, MI, etc)
not so much in shallow roster leagues

11:17
What would the floor be for Trea Turner next year?
Brad Johnson
11:18
cratered AVG, frustration at the plate spiking his Ks, no power
something like 65/6/55/30/.250
seems very unlikely to me

11:19
Thoughts on Jon Gray?
Brad Johnson
11:19
Like him a lot, even with Coors
obviously that hurts his fantasy ceiling a lot
11:20
very few starters have remained fantasy relevant for more than a couple years in Colorado

Once Rodon goes on my DL, do I try to pick up Wacha or Folty? Shallow-ish league so there's usually some talent on the wire.
Brad Johnson
11:20
Folty or someone else entirely
Gsellman maybe
Joe Nello
11:20
Arizona badly needed a catcher with some framing ability. Why didn't they target Zunino in the Segura/Walker trade?
Brad Johnson
11:21
They might have
very hard to put a value on a guy with Zunino's ability and lack of consistency
Ask 30 teams to put a dollar value on him and you probably get a very wide range

Who is a better prospect - Bellinger vs Meadows - both Short Term and Long Term
Brad Johnson
11:22
Meadows and Meadows
I like Bellinger too

Hey, Brad! Is it reasonable to take a strategic risk on injured studs like David Price and J.D. Martinez this early in the year? And if so, any advice for calculating the ROI?
Brad Johnson
11:22
yea, especially in the right setting
I paid $24 for Price in ottoneu last night
11:23
if he comes back fine in May, he's a $30+ pitcher this season with big keeper value
if his elbow explodes, I get $12 back for in-season moves
in more normal settings, you'll want to be a little more restrained with the final price
I'm not as concerned about JDM

Carrasco, Hill, and McCullers ... is that too much pitcher injury risk to take on a single staff? I fear I'm a bit blinded by upside...
Brad Johnson
11:24
You'll want/need to continue bolstering that unit to mitigate the risks
but yes, the upside is brilliant

Deep keeper rotation set with John Gray, Julio Urias, Daniel Norris, and Tyler Skaggs: strong young core poised to take the next step forward, or lacking enough stability from reliable veterans to be a weapon?
