What are your thoughts on RP in a SV and HD league? Are they valued exactly the same whether they are a set up guy or a closer all other stats equal?
Brad Johnson
5:01
Closers close more games than setup men hold
5:02
So if it's SVs + Hlds, then closers are superior. If they're separate categories, then you have to somehow roster both. I tend to load up on saves early with a few guys who could inherit a closer role. Then in the second half, I stream a ton of holds.
unless you have a huge bench, it's hard to roster both types of relievers at the same time
oh, also trade the closers after you accrue a huge lead

Tips for drafting in NFBC no transactions leagues?
Brad Johnson
5:03
Don't get lost on upside. You need a lot of high floor and volume too
The final boss
5:03
Favorite DL stashes early in the season?
Brad Johnson
5:03
Julio Urias, Dustin Pedroia?
Honestly, I'm not that up on who's a DL stash right now. I don't explicitly stash them now that my DL is permanently overfilled.
5:04
Alex Reyes is a biggie

5:05
Is this the year Delino Deshields finally gets a full season in, and leads the league in steals?  Not that the AL is THAT hard to lead in steals, but still.
Brad Johnson
5:05
There's a chance. I have a feeling he'll stall out around 500 PA
BigBop
5:05
Any chance Luis Urias is the Padres' everyday 2B this year??
Brad Johnson
5:05
Pretty close to zero
Bob Villar
5:05
I just traded Cole and Stroman for Carrasco. Am I a genius?
Brad Johnson
5:06
I'm gonna go with no. Could work though. They're all injury prone and volatile in some way.
5:07
Carrasco is obviously the best of the bunch although Cole could outperform him in Houston.

5:07
M. Andujar have a chance to have 12 team mixed value this year?
Brad Johnson
5:07
Yes. A chance. His best opportunity is to keep mashing in Spring Training and then never stop.
Price Enforcer
5:07
I got caught price enforcing on Knebel which led to my taking Rivero and Bradley.  Really didn't research closers.  Regression candidates or legit?
Brad Johnson
5:08
Mostly legit, any extremely good performance is going to come with some regression expectation - even if the guy does it 5 years in a row.

5:08
Do you think Ozuna can repeat in St. Louis this year?  His track record doesn't have me feeling too great, but ... what do you think?  Did he peak last year, or will we see him repeat for a few years?
Brad Johnson
5:08
I think that was peak Ozuna. He'll be more good than great in my opinion
5:09
Could hold those gains though. Would just bet on some regression.

In a 14 teamer 6x5 (added xbhs) with $300 budget and 6 bench spots (22 total). Assuming they go around standard price, who are some players you would make sure to get?
Brad Johnson
5:10
I don't like that approach, but I would really go after big boppers with the xbh's added
Locking in on specific players is a good way to get bad values. Instead, try to take a price enforcement role and be happy with what falls to you
Do make sure you get some big bats though
JD Martin
5:11
is there any chance Collin McHugh turns into a Devenski-style reliever this year (SP eligible with nice rate stats and holds)?
Brad Johnson
5:11
I can't say no when you phrase it like this. Unlikely, I think.
I don't see him playing up in relief the way Devenski does
Positional Scarcity
5:11
Do you think there actually is positional scarcity in a CI/MI/5 OF league?
Brad Johnson
5:12
No. OF might be a little shallower, especially if you have 2 UTIL, but that's mitigated by there being more new OFers.

How do you approach pitching prospects in a dynasty league? Feels like if I can get solid MLB SP's in a trade, I should pull the trigger (volatility, injury risk, etc.) Thoughts?
Brad Johnson
5:13
My 20 team, 45 player dynasty league roster includes 9 prospects. None of them are pitchers. They don't hold value well.
5:14
While my rivals were drafting 19-year-olds, I did take bench shares of Leake, Karns, Eovaldi, McCarthy, Mengden, and Williams, all of whom I consider "like" pitching prospects except actually veterans.

Any back-end SPs who have shown improved velo thus far in Spring Training to warrant optimism? Last year it was Shelby Miller, now it looks like Matt Harvey might have found it again.

And any SPs who have lost a tick since last season?
Brad Johnson
5:15
I'm not up on that yet, I like to let a couple outings pass before worrying about velo
Vegan Man!

with deGrom behind schedule, would you keep Carrasco or Greinke over him at this point? Thanks!
