Eventually, probably. This year, maybe.

better to have 2 stud SP and a bunch of tier 4/5 guys or 1 stud SP and a bunch of tier 2/3/4 guys? NL only 5x5
Brad Johnson
4:51
I think I'd take the pair in an Only
Matt

I was under the impression that there was no positional scarcity . . . except at catcher. Would you not agree?
Brad Johnson
4:51
Correct
And I tend not to worry too much about C
Vegan Man!
4:52
When would you be comfortable drafting Conforto in a 12 teamer? Thanks!
Brad Johnson
4:52
I'm not comfortable drafting him at a place where he's actually available
Not enough precedent for how players recover from his injury
Bryzzohtani :(
4:52
Were you profitable in DFS last year? Still plan on doing daily write ups?
Brad Johnson
4:53
I was not, although I salvaged the second half of the year which tends to be the hardest time period to win. I'll still be doing the daily grind. Maybe more too. We'll see.

I just got Goldy for $47 in a Ottoneu FGPts league? Bargain?
Brad Johnson
4:53
Sounds lovely to me

Is there a date when signing Arietta will no longer cost a team draft picks and international money? There was in the previous CBA, but I can't find it now.
Brad Johnson
4:54
I'm not actually sure because it's not explicitly stated. Not sure anybody knows. In the past, the drop dead was the actual draft. But it's possible the penalty carries over now.
Joe

$19 too much for Doolittle in an NL only?
Brad Johnson
4:55
Probably not. Values get very distorted in Onlys

I'm more likely to draft Miller when I've got weak starters than when I have weak relievers (since by that point there are still strong relievers remaining). I think there's something there but I haven't fully investigated it yet. Could be a fun article somehow.
Brad Johnson

re: comparing top relievers like Miller to SP instead of RP
Interesting perspective. I'll let it soak in my brain for a bit and see if it's worth an article

How worried should I be about Arrieta still being unemployed?
Brad Johnson
4:56
It's getting close to the point where he won't be on the Opening Day roster. May already be past that point
So yes, worried

Odd that Treinen and Greene hold their jobs for the year?
Brad Johnson
4:56
50% for Treinen, 35% Greene.
4:57
I should note, even Jansen or Kimbrel is like an 80%.

Im in an extemely savvy league and Albies is ranked around 170 in yahoo. I'm thinking if I want him I'm going to have to grab him in the 9th or 10th round. 12 team h2h, keep 8 forever league...missing link is 2nd base. Do I reach or explore other options?
Brad Johnson
4:58
Don't be afraid to take somebody who's better now. He's not a lock to have that keeper value
If you can pop a Murphy, do it.

How many PA's you think JD gets this year in Boston?  You think DH'ing helps him stay healthly?
Brad Johnson
4:58
All of them, and yes
Adam
4:58
Matt Chapman or Ryon Healy as a $1 AL only CI keeper? standard 5X5
Brad Johnson
4:58
Easy Chapman for me
scotty
4:58
what do yu think the chances are of Greybar Torres sticking with the NYYY big club??
Brad Johnson
4:59
To start the year? Low. Pretty likely he'll get 300+ PA in my opinion
If he hadn't been injured last year, he'd be on the Opening Day roster

Never played Yahoo before - shallow 12 team SP/SP/RP/RP/P/P/P/P no MI/CI etc.  What's your recommendation for drafting in a league this style?
Brad Johnson

Don't be afraid to focus on pitchers beginning in the early rounds. Make sure you get a big bat or two, but you'll find a flood of position players available late.
the pitchers actually dry up
so it's good to lock 'em down early
