We're obviously looking at a range of outcomes from nothing to mid-lineup monster

In deeper leagues with 400+ players kept, is it worth keeping young pitching prospects like Cease/Gohara/Gore/Keller/etc who are somewhat close to the majors? Too much risk or worth the upside?
Brad Johnson
4:31
Depends on the opportunity cost. They probably fit better on a roster that spent a lot of resources aggregating talent

Thanks for the chat. Please rank these deep league starters for 2019. Gausman, Minor, Bucholz, Fiers.

Paul Sporer is our pitcher rankings guy. I've actually stopped using rankings altogether.

re: story replacement. it's a 10 tm where most teams aren't making move so I can mix and match. thanks for the advice, i'll stream as stats are needed.
Brad Johnson
4:33
In that case, you definitely should stream until you find something too good to cut

What happened to the MASH report?
Brad Johnson
4:34
Good question. It would be better to ask Jeff Zimmerman. He chats Sunday nights and can be found on twitter.

Not a scientific analysis but Villar seems to thrive on bad teams that let him run wild.  Assuming he's back in Baltimore next year, do you think he can have a similar year to two years ago?
Brad Johnson
4:34
I wouldn't pay for it happening, but I'll be keen to land a few late-round fliers just in case

What's going on with Villar?  He's been going nutso ever since he got to Camden Yards.  Think he could come close to repeating his 2016 next year?
Brad Johnson
4:34
ok ok, I'll look closer
4:35
Ok, I have tasted his stats and they're basically the exact same as prior to the trade
There is one very large difference
4:36
He's traded nearly 20 points of GB rate for nearly 20 points of FB rate
I'd like to think that's sustainable and intentional, but I kinda doubt it

Any tips for trying to stream AVG?
Brad Johnson

Jeff McNeil for days
4:37
In general, you're looking for hard contact line drive hitters against crappy low strikeout pitchers

Is Austin Meadows going to get called up? Added him two weeks ago and I feel like a fool. Like I did when I added (and finally dropped) Willy Calhoun.
Brad Johnson
4:37
I assume so. The Bulls made the Triple-A final which I think was to be played today... or sometime soon if not today
4:38
Ironically, the final game of the International League playoffs was supposed to be in Durham. But they moved it to Scranton PA in deference to Florence
4:39
And I just so happened to have fled half an hour from Scranton so I got to see the game anyway

Who would you start tonight: Josh Bell or Choi?
Brad Johnson
4:39
EZ Choi

Would you start Derek Holland today against the padres in a playoff h2h against the biggest streaming team in our 12 team league?
Brad Johnson
4:39
Yes

In the semi-finals of my H2H 7x7 (obp, not avg) 12-team redraft league.  Slightly worried about the recent power outages from Suarez, Carpenter, Realmuto and Zimmerman.  Would any of the following be suitable replacements (assuming I can slot them into positions) or do I ride it out: Astudillo & Meija for Realmuto; Choi, Davidson or Bour for Zimmerman or Suarez (using CI position); Polanco, Mondesi, Profar or Wendle for Carpenter; Schebler, Cave, Laureano or Dahl if I could move some current guys on my team from OF to other spots?  Thanks!
Brad Johnson
4:40
Of those you listed, I would only actively try to replace Zimmerman. Choi, Mondesi, and Laureano are the best options with which to do it
Choi if you want pure power, Mondesi if you need to optimize for SB, Laureano if you want a mix of the two

Berrios or Walker B for a keeper?
Brad Johnson
4:41
This might be against consensus, but I kinda like Buehler's future a little more
Shame to have to choose
Kyle Hendricks

After last night's performance, does it look like Kris Bryant broke out of his slump
Brad Johnson
4:41
I mean, one game is just one game
But I was never really too worried about him

Isn't trading CL to non-contenders to goose your own standings collusion? I don't generally veto trades, but I'd vote that down in a heartbeat
