Brad Johnson

Plenty of my colleagues feel otherwise

The upside is pretty impressive with Brujan. You'll want to swat away all those pesky flies trying to trade you for him over the winter

Brad, I agree with you regarding trading of a CL.  As long as you get something of equal value (or close to equal value) in return for the CL, I don't see what the problem is.

Mr Brad!! May your wisdom grace the cosmos! Enlighten thee!! Going forward is Goodrum a guy that will improve, decline or is this what he is??
Brad Johnson
5:06
I see him as a second division starter at best. He's not showing any signs of improvement, but that doesn't mean he can't improve
5:07
Playing time is very important to development. You never really know who will see the light and who will just keep flailing
Bob

Can Godley be trusted later this week?
Brad Johnson
5:07
You can never trust Godley. His results are seemingly unrelated to quality of competition

Lewis Brinson worth keeping
Brad Johnson
5:08
Without knowing a lot more about your league, I'd venture a no
If we're talking 20 team, keep 28 or something, then yes
John
5:08
Josh James, Toussiant, Bryse Wilson,  more likely to start 20+ games next season?
Brad Johnson
5:08
One of the Braves for sure
5:09
Wilson might not be stretched out for much more than 20 starts, but I'm not sure Toussaint is quite good enough to pitch regularly on a contender
We'll see how quickly he adjusts to the majors
I kinda smell a bullpen future for him

My doubts were about Stanton and not Soto, but I did not mention that this is a 'keep so long as you wish' league, which is where Hoskins comes in.  I fear Giancarlo's injury history in years past clouds my judgment ... many of those could have been pure bad luck.
Brad Johnson
5:10
Stanton's only about 3 years older than Hoskins
Honestly, I would expect them to both phase out of keeper relevance around the same time

Do you think Rosario plays again this year?
Brad Johnson
5:11
Y'all need to be more specific sometimes.
I assume you mean Willin Rosario, and no, I do not think he'll play again
5:12
And no, I'm guessing Eddie Rosario will be sent home. Maybe he'll DH a couple days at the end
Amed Rosario is fine btw
Not Jeff

There are obviously no guarantees with TJ surgery, but would it be crazy to keep Ohtani (in a league where he is two way eligible) over a more established pitcher (Nola) with the hope that Ohtani can rake for a good part of next season then return to 2-way glory in 2020?
Brad Johnson
5:12
If you could come up with a "more established pitcher" who isn't also a top 10 SP
then yes
5:13
Charlie Morton for example

h2h, traditional stats, weekly lineups (not day by day) - this week is the finals, so I just want max production from my 1B over these last 7 days: was I wrong to start Tyler White over Jose Abreu?
Brad Johnson
5:13
Nope, you made the right call in my opinion
Sum

thanks for chatting, Brad. apologies if you've already answered this. why l
Brad Johnson
5:13
I did not answer that yet
Sum
5:13
thanks for chatting, Brad. why did you list Josh James as a stack target tonight? thanks!
Brad Johnson
5:14
because he's a volatile unestablished pitcher and it's not unusual for such pitchers to throw a few too many juicy fastballs right down the pike
I'm not saying he's definitely going to have a bad game. I'm just saying there's a real chance he allows something like 7 runs in 3 innings.
5:15
And that's what you're chasing with a stack, that chance.
Is a stack against Yovani Gallardo more likely to bear fruit? Absolutely. But you'll also share that stack with practically half the GPP field
5:16
So going after James instead gives you similar upside, more downside risk, and a chance to really separate from the pack if Gallardo happens to pitch well.

My ERA and WHIP are both 0.85 right now. Am I perfect?
Brad Johnson
5:16
Perfect would be 0.00, no?
