12xMixed, OBP/SLG league. Starting Justin Turner at 3B as the 14th one picked. Think that will be good enough if it's the weakest spot in my lineup?
Brad Johnson
2:02
Yes, that should be fine. Maybe get a guy like Valencia just to ensure you have every day starters
Zorak
2:03
Vizcaino have his job back?
Brad Johnson
2:04
Almost. So long as he pitches well, it's probably his
Joe
2:04
How do you view D Deshields? Is he Billy Hamilton with a better approach at the plate?
Brad Johnson
2:05
Not exactly. More like Dex Fowler with less power and more consistent speed.
Adam
2:06
Is Jeanmar Gomez worth a stash? Didn't think of him as a potential closer.
Brad Johnson
2:06
Only in a very deep setting
Tim
2:06
Who do you like best in a saves/holds league: Strop, Herrera, or Neshak?
Brad Johnson
2:07
None of these, there are better options, I promise
Tony Zych being one
Walt
2:08
Any chance Byron Buxton figures things out in the first month this season? And would the Twins then move him up in the order from the 9th spot to a more productive run scoring position?
Brad Johnson
2:09
Yes and yes. That said, he might not get there this year. I still see an MLB average floor, but I'm growing less certain he'll ever approach the massive ceiling. Still plenty of time though. Be patient.
Hopefully you planned to be patient all along if you selected him. It's generally a bad idea to seek instant gratification from that type of player

Tony Zych < Kelvin Herrera
Brad Johnson
2:11
Strongly disagree. Herrera is barely better than a replacement level holds guy. He doesn't have the strikeouts.
Roger
2:11
Trevor Story or Starlin Castro for the rest of the year?
Brad Johnson
2:11
Story. I'm very much not on the Starlin bandwagon
Walt

Very excited for the first Bradchat of the year. Based on the DFS poll you posted, what results did you expect to see and were you surprised at what you did see?
Brad Johnson
2:12
I thought there would be fewer "never" results (55%). 25% used to play and another 8% quit. So only 11% of you actually play DFS
2:13
I might have to re-evaluate my column which is more 80-20 for DFS
Slim
2:14
Tony Zych < Pedro Strop
Brad Johnson
2:14
This one is closer as Strop is a well above average holds league guy
Eric
2:14
You appear to have sound bullpen takes. What do you make of Diekman getting the ultra high lev spot yesterday, and not Kela or Dyson?
Brad Johnson
2:15
I'm not reading into one game, but Diekman is a borderline closer quality reliever when he's one. His command comes and goes.
when he's on*
Adam
2:15
Who are your favorite stashes for saves potential?
Brad Johnson
2:16
Zych, a handful of Rangers (Dyson, Kela, Diekman), Benoit, Vizcaino (already most of the way to closer)
2:17
Maurer I guess, I liked Pom more but he's starting. May.
Kelley, Treinen, Rivero in WAS
2:18
Strop's a good one actually and I forgot the A's pen - Madson and Hendriks
Lil Mook
2:18
Is Strickland worth owning in a sv+hld league? Think he may close at some point this season?
Brad Johnson
2:19
Yes, excellent fastball, one of the best in the league, the offspeed stuff leaves something to be desired
he can close, but he'll probably never be elite
Eric
2:20
Won't read too much into Diek's *quality* based on one game, but how about reading into the manager's decision? Is he a must-spec (for cheap saves) in deeper leagues now? 20 teams, 100+ RP owned, Kela, Dyson obviously owned. Thinking of using high waiver priority on Dieks.
Brad Johnson
2:20
I don't think he'll be first in line for saves
Ryan
2:20
No Jumbo Diaz on that list?
Brad Johnson
2:21
He's a closer candidate, but I'm not he can keep the HR under control
Terrible Fantasy Player
2:21
If Knebel were healthy, would you be recommending him as a saves stash?
Brad Johnson
2:21
yea
