Diaz or Maurer better chance for saves ?
Brad Johnson
2:22
Diaz, but Maurer has a better chance to be decent
Adam
2:22
Do you think Farquhar has a shot at saves or will Colome take that job?
Brad Johnson
2:22
I'll pin it at 33% chance. I like Colome a lot more.

what about tony watson? seems like everyone assumes he's next in line, but i'm not so sure. worth having over strop/zych/nate jones/o'day? no holds in my league, so just for the rates & potential saves later on (since i bail on closers in the draft, generally, though i do have rondon)
Brad Johnson
2:24
I'd keep the other 4 over Watson. I think Melancon's pretty reliable even when he's not on top of his game
Billy

Should I be starting Cesar over Ketel for my MI spot?
Brad Johnson
2:24
I'd stick with Ketel now, but play matchups if you own both

With MIL looking to be in the running with Philly as the worst team in MLB, do you see a situation where they decide to sit Braun a game or two every now and then just to keep him from getting hurt and to keep their long-term investment healthy? They are obviously not going to win this year, and no one is taking on that contract via trade, so why risk another long term injury to him?
Brad Johnson
2:25
Treat Braun like David Wright. He's going to play maybe 130-140 games.

in a fairly deepish 12 team league, should I look to deal some pitching for an OF upgrade? Have Pence, HanRam, Pederson, Khris Davis, Conforto?
Brad Johnson
2:26
that OF looks fine to me as long as you have a ton of INF SBs

Is B Hamilton going to be stuck at the bottom of the order all yr? Potential loss of at bats and demotion in his future this yr? I could land Robertson for him. Would you consider getting in front of this and unloading now? H2H pts league. Thanks
Brad Johnson
2:27
Yea, he's a 9 hole, but he won't lose his job
2:28
he'll get fewer ABs, but he's still a stud source of SB
2:29
as for Robertson, I have some concerns about his fit in Chicago. He needs a larger home park
It's not that I think he'll lose his job. He'll just have a mediocre ERA for a closer

AL Only, standard 5x5: Best CI for 2016 - LoMo, Alonso, Lowrie?
Brad Johnson
2:30
Lowrie when healthy, the tricky part is replacing him when he's inevitably hurt

Any reason to keep David Wright as a reserve 3b if Jake Lamb is hanging on the waiver wire?
Brad Johnson
2:31
I bet somebody would trade something for Wright
Lamb isn't exactly an upgrade. I like him, but he has to contend with Drury
Eric
2:32
Eno says Bumgarner is hurt. Time to quickly try to trade him, or do you think he can recover?
Brad Johnson
2:33
This is a tough one. He was also sick yesterday and looked ok to me once he settled in
I notice he sometimes has trouble with control early in a game
usually starts spotting within an inning or 2
Matt
2:33
Ian Desmond gonna be a 20/20 guy this season?
Brad Johnson
2:34
No. Maybe 15/10? 20/10?
Marc
2:34
Thoughts on Nicasio? Think he can be e relevant mixed league starter in a 12 team league?
Brad Johnson
2:34
I wrote about him in today's Daily Grind, I worry about his repertoire for starting
2:35
I think he could still be relevant, but I doubt he'll be a stud

What are the factors that keep a fantasy league going? I'm enjoying my 12th season in a league that started 27 years ago. We had the last 2 remaining founders drop out over the off season, but 2 friends of current owners jumped in to take over the vacancies. FWIW, the ownership is 90% spread across 2 major metro areas. I also, personally feel that limiting the pool to AL-only (or NL-only) makes it more appealing.
Brad Johnson
2:37
There's a lot to it. Fair rules, parity, and some keeper element tend to keep people around
it's also good to get rid of owners who ruin the league with terrible trades to the same couple owners
that's a common bad league dynamic. 1 or 2 guys are particularly good at stealing from the poor.

Who is better back-up 1B in AL only roto, Lind, Moreland, Shaw, or Colabello?
Brad Johnson
2:38
I'l say Lind for now. Those are nice free options in an AL only
