A Burnes or Woodruff trade would be huge. But it's also possible they hold both and make small cuts elsewhere to save money.

What is the real likelihood of next season?  As a Brewers fan for all 40 years of my life n gone to tons of games..
Including the 82 WS as a 1 month old...I've lost my love for this ownership n front office.  Do you see the Brewers trying to really contend?  Not pretend but actually contend?  Extend Burnes...nor trade Rowdy...extend adames...I'd be ok with a Woodruff trade for restocking our sad farm...but I cannot go through another rebuild...40 years n nothing...I love celebrating the 82 season but..

I think there's been anything to suggest they're considering a full rebuild.

The Hader trade was an attempt to help the future while hopefully not sacrificing the present.
Obviously, the "present" part of that didn't work out. But they might do more of that type of thing.
I'm sure it's frustrating but it reduces the likelihood of a full rebuild.

He had a really good year, but $11MM for a guy who mostly provides power is a decent amount for a team that doesn't run huge payrolls.

You can't really rule out anything with the Rays. But Lowe is coming off a frustrating injury-plagued season. To deal him now would be selling low.

Brandon Drury makes a lot of sense. He could play either second or third, depending on how the other pieces fit.

You mentioned that the more balanced 2023 schedule will hurt the Brewers. It seems it would hurt the Cardinals as well and therefore make things even since the other three NL Central teams are non-contenders in 2023. What do you think?

That's true in the short-term perhaps, but the Cubs will start spending again at some point, maybe even this winter.

In general, all the Central teams will be affected in more or less the same way. So, the schedule change doesn't really impact their chances at winning the division.

But for the Wild Card, where they will be competing with teams like the Mets, Padres, Giants, Phillies, etc, it makes things tougher.

In a vacuum, I think he's worth it.
But he made some comments that seemed to suggest he was expecting to be bought out and replaced by Turang.
