Outside of Catcher and DH, which position will be easiest and cheapest for the brewers to upgrade in the offseason?
Darragh McDonald
10:51
Decent corner outfielders can usually be had for fairly cheap. Joc Pederson got 6 mil from the Giants last year, for instance.

would anyone be willing to eat yelichs salary? Maybe the Mets or Yankees? They could use a player like him and they got the money
Darragh McDonald
10:51
I would be surprised. Yelich is getting paid almost MVP rates but hasn't been there in a few years.
10:52
He's still good. Don't get me wrong. But there's an obvious gap there.

The Brewers only got two players for Hader.  One is already gone and the second will be leaving.
Darragh McDonald
10:53
Milwaukee got four players for Hader.
10:54
You're right that Lamet is gone and Rogers is leaving. But Robert Gasser and Esteury Ruiz were also in the deal. They will both still be around.

10:55
Has Brice Turang played enough second base to be the 2023 starter at that position?
Darragh McDonald
10:55
You're right that he hasn't played there a lot, but shortstops tend to have the ability to play anywhere.
10:56
Teams usually aren't afraid of just putting a shortstop at second.

I don't think you will have Burnes and Yelich on the same team, with Burnes making over $ 30 Million and Yelich $ 25 Million
Darragh McDonald
10:57
For a team that's never had a payroll higher than about $132MM, it's definitely tight. That's over 40% of the budget on two guys.
10:58
To be clear, this will be a long-term concern. Burnes is only projected to make about $11MM in 2023.
Wong
10:59
is it pretty much a guarantee that Kolten Wong will be bought out and become a free agent? I would assume Wong would have a few teams interested in him, perhaps Boston.
Slingin' Stearns
10:59
Does Wong have much trade value if they pick up his option? Get a prospect for him and then use turang at second?
Darragh McDonald
10:59
It's not out of the question. The second base free agent market isn't strong. I can see it.

Who’s playing third base on opening day for the crew?
Darragh McDonald
11:00
Luis Urias would be my guess.

isn't the brewers main concern this offseason is figuring out yelich's lack of production?
Darragh McDonald
11:01
If there's a fix for that, it would be massive, for sure.
11:02
His groundball rate was 58.6% this year. His highest since 2015.
Is that something to do with his swing? The way he's being pitched?
I haven't done a deep dive on it.
The shift ban will help him some next year, but less ground balls would also help.

Is it time to move on from Urias?
Darragh McDonald
11:04
I like Urias. Good plate discipline, some power, positional versatility.

What about 1st base?
Darragh McDonald
11:05
I think they should just stick with Rowdy.

11:06
Could Profar be an answer at third?
Darragh McDonald
11:06
Profar only played left field this year. Hasn't played third since 2018.

What teams would be most interested in a Woodruff trade
Darragh McDonald
11:07
Just about every team could use someone like Woodruff.
11:08
Rebuilding teams like the Nats and A's would be out.
There's a couple of teams that likely have enough pitching to prioritize other areas, such as the Astros.
11:09
But most teams in the league make sense.

Chocolate or vanilla?
Darragh McDonald
11:10
I usually go for some kind of caramel thing.
Jack
11:10
Does Yelich have a no-trade clause?
Darragh McDonald
11:11
Yes, a full one.
