Will the Astros be looking at some pitching R something else at the Trading deadline.
Anthony Franco
8:58
Another team I think will look into the relief market. Probably guys on pre-arb contracts or early in arbitration so they can stay under the CBT threshold.

Who wins the NL East?
Anthony Franco
8:59
I took the Braves preseason but I kind of think Mets at this point.
Tribe

At what point do they call a spade a spade and reset? They wont spend money and obviously don't have the depth to overcome injuries
Anthony Franco

I expect Cleveland to fall back too, but they've played well so far and will be getting the rotation back at some point. If they're within four or five of Chicago at the deadline, I think they'll add.
Rangers
9:01
Will Gibson and Gallo still be with the Rangers at the end of July?
Anthony Franco
9:01
I think they'll both be traded. I'd be shocked if Gibson's on the team on July 31.
Mr Hahn

Toronto is 6 and a half out of the wild card. If they don't make a move by the end of the month, could you see them shopping Semien?  Seems they could get a great return for him.
Anthony Franco
9:02
Hadn't really considered this. I think they'd have to fall pretty hard over the next few weeks to do this. Springer's back for the stretch run, and they'd get a draft pick after making Semien a QO even if they hang onto him all year.

What team do you root for and who was your favorite player growing?
Anthony Franco
9:04
I was a Cubs fan growing up but my team-specific fandom is gone now that I try to take a 30,000 foot of every team's situation.
Starlin Castro was the first guy I followed all the way through the minor league system, so I guess he was my favorite player growing up.

Do u think we trade anyone at the deadline
Anthony Franco
9:06
I would move Castellanos. Not sure they will, but they keep losing ground on the Brewers and he's a lock to opt out unless he gets hurt.
That guy
9:06
(Not sarcasticly) you are doing great for your first time.
Anthony Franco
9:06
Thanks!

Where do you think I’m headed?
Anthony Franco
9:07
It's so tough to pin down an obvious fit since almost all the good teams have a shortstop.
9:08
So, off the wall speculation here. Nationals maybe?
Bump Story to third for a couple months and move Castro to the bench?
9:09
There's no indication they're actually considering this, to be clear, but I think the team that lands him eventually moves somebody (him or their incumbent shortstop) to another position.

Will the Orioles trade anyone at this point? Seems like the only lock was Galvis, but with his injury all of the others (Mancini, Mullins, means, Santander) don’t seem as plausible. Will Fry or Franco be the most likely players traded?
Anthony Franco
9:11
I think Fry and Sulser are going. Some chance of Means and Mancini but unlikely. There was basically no interest in Franco before this year, so I doubt there's any now.
Dom Dombrowski
9:11
This isnt my area of expertise as Im usually on the buying end kf these deals. who puts together the best package for Zack Wheeler?
Anthony Franco
9:12
Phillies aren't trading Wheeler.
They might not wind up buying, but they didn't hire Dombrowski to kick off a rebuild after a bad half-season.
Yo bro
9:13
Saw an interesting article about the cardinals trading one of Gallegos Cabrera or Reyes. Do see that happening and where would be a good fit? Toronto, Yankees?
Anthony Franco
9:13
Don't think they'd move all three. Maybe one if they get a good return, but they're going to try to reload for 2022.
Basically any contender's a good fit for any quality reliever.
9:14
Good relievers are always in demand, because they can always just push somebody else down the depth chart a notch, even on teams that already have a strong bullpen.
Chris
9:14
Why are the A's connected to so many dh/corner outfielders but never haniger? He seems right in their target dollar range
Anthony Franco
9:15
Hard for me to see the Mariners trading him in division, since I think they'll push to compete for 2022 even if they sell off a couple guys this summer.
Estevão
9:16
Snell/another win for the Rays?
Anthony Franco
9:16
Not ready to bury him yet. He's had issues with his control in the past and bounced back, and the contract's super valuable if he returns to form.
9:17
But the Rays end of that deal always looked good too. I thought it was a good move for both sides at the time that hasn't paid off as San Diego's expected to this point.

Chances of Luis Castillo getting traded at the deadline?
Anthony Franco
9:17
I doubt that happens. Not a great time to move him given the year he's had.
Tim

Who is this Jackson Jobe guy?  0.13 ERA… 122 strikeouts in 52 innings. Wow!!
Anthony Franco

Ha, the top high school pitching prospects in the country always have some insane numbers.
