Why do teams not make Willy Adames timed trades more often? Would make sense to have these players longer on contending teams and maximize return for sellers

Not too many clear cut sellers in mid-May, and the ones who are prefer to wait to try to shop around offers and hope buyers get trigger-happy by the deadline

By doing that, they run the risk of their player underperforming, getting hurt, etc, but I think they're chasing upside
Obviously, the Adames trade itself wasn't even really that. Just a weird situation where two contending teams' needs matched up

None of them this summer. Wouldn't shock me if they put Lowe on the market over the offseason though

He very specifically said today it's not going to be a full rebuild. I'd guess at least two of the big three FA's (Bryant for sure) move this summer and they rekindle Contreras talks over the offseason

Don't think it's really a great time to move Hendricks, and I'd guess they re-sign one of the guys from the core so as not to completely alienate the fan base
