Will the Cards move on one of the Marlins arms? If so which one is more likely? At what cost?
Steve Adams
2:04
They're a better fit in terms of the "surplus" talent they have in the OF and behind the plate, but I don't see any reason right now to believe they're any kind of favorite over the other 18 teams the Marlins are talking to about their starters. Speculatively, Dylan Carlson and Ivan Herrera both seem like they'd appeal to Miami

Are the Brewers that boring and uninspiring this offseason that no one wants to ask questions about them?
Steve Adams
2:06
Not a lot of Brewers questions that I've seen today, ha, no. I think they'll trade Adrian Houser at some point! So that's something.
Bauer
2:07
Will some team sign me ?
Steve Adams
2:07
Maybe? I don't have a good answer. I've seen something like 15 teams that have leaked that they *won't* pursue him, and I've not seen much of anything to say teams *will* pursue him.

How will the Twins rotation work when I return?
Steve Adams
2:08
By that point there will be other injuries, Maeda will probably be getting up there in innings in his first season back from internal brace surgery -- I don't think they're too concerned about how to make it all work out
Les Gomez
2:09
Could you see the Mets trading for Ketel Marte for LF?
Steve Adams
2:10
I could see the Mets wanting to, but the D-backs haven't been interested in trading him for years now. They extended him last offseason, and they've made moves geared toward winning in 2023 as their young core reaches the Majors; I think it's unlikely they'd have much interest in moving him.
2:11
In addition to Lewin Diaz clearing waivers with the O's today, the Twins just announced Kyle Garlick and Oliver Ortega cleared and will be in camp as non-roster players. I thought Garlick had a decent chance of being claimed somewhere, given the power against LHP.

Can Lourdes Gurriel still play the infield? I keep hearing and reading this comment from Dbacks Podcaster and fan  sites.
Steve Adams
2:12
Could probably mix in at 1B  a tiny bit, but he was a bad defender at both miffle infield spots and hasn't played either in three years. I don't think he's going to see meaningful time at any of 2B, 3B or SS.
Miffle!
Good work, Steve.
Luke Voit
2:13
Can anyone use a little chest lettuce?
Steve Adams
2:15
Ha. I think Voit might have to settle for a minor league deal after the health troubles, massive uptick in strikeouts and general downturn in production over the past couple seasons, but if the Marlins or some other club with some potential 1B/DH ABs to spare wanted to give him a couple million bucks and lots of incentives, I think it'd be a fine enough gamble. Probably doesn't help him that he has pretty notable reverse platoon splits, though
2:16
Most clubs at this point are looking more for part-time ABs and stuff, and a defensively limited RHH bat who's less productive against LHP than RHP is  a tough sell a lot of places.
Shintaro Fujinami
2:16
I was just introduced to Bay Area media! What are realistic expectations for me this season? All-Star?
Steve Adams
2:16
If it were reasonable to think he'd be an All-Star, I think he'd have done better than a year and $3.25MM on the open market
2:18
Fujinami has been a total wild card in NPB in recent years as his command has eroded. He throws hard, has a plus splitter and has obvious talent, but he hasn't even been able to stick consistently on his NPB club's top team; he's been sent to the minors quite a bit over there in recent years. I thought a team was going to put him in the 'pen, so I'm surprised to see Oakland promise him a rotation spot.
Chad Green
2:18
Any news on where I might end up?  Will I be healthy for the season?
Steve Adams
2:18
He had Tommy John last summer. Doubt he pitches in the Majors before August. Feels like a guy who'll get something like two years and $8MM, with $1MM or so in 2023 and the rest paid out in 2024, when he's hopefully healthy.
2:19
Rays, Braves, Cubs, Twins have all done those kinds of deals in recent years -- effectively paying a guy to rehab in year one. But it's a relatively small risk and I wouldn't limit the potential landing spots to teams who've made this type of signing in the past.
