Sure -- I don't think he's going to be all that expensive, and he said signing with a winner is "for sure" a priority. Cleveland, Colorado, Philadelphia, Atlanta all have fairly clear paths to ABs for him.

DeGrom for Cy Young?

I think so

Adam jones to LAA to replace Calhoun in RF while we wait for Adell
Steve Adams

Eppler prefers OBP in his skill set, which Jones doesn't bring to the table because of an anemic walk rate. Plus, that'd make them even more right-handed.

MLB pipeline announced pete “the meat” Alonso as their front runner for 2019 rookie of the year today. You think he can get it done?
Steve Adams
4:38
I don't see why he shouldn't be on an early and very preliminary list of candidates. But Tatis, Senzel, Robles, Rodgers and plenty more could just as easily be on there, and there'll likely be some unexpected candidates, as there usually are.

How bad was the Adam Duvall acquisition from the braves perspective?
Steve Adams
4:40
They didn't really give up much of value, but I did find it bizarre that Braves beat writers were trying to tout it as an acquisition of actual note at the time. I don't think they're going to be too burned by giving up Wisler. Sims is still somewhat intriguing, though.

Should the Padres really be considering trading for someone like Suarez or Bryant?
Steve Adams
4:42
As good a time as any to say I don't think the Cubs/Bryant thing is worth making much of a fuss over. And the Reds surely aren't moving Suarez, so the fact that the Padres apparently like him doesn't matter much. Lots of teams probably like Suarez. One of them is the Reds, though, and they're trying to be competitive next season.

If the Padres can find a 3B with some control, though, I don't see why they shouldn't pursue it.

Does Kang start the season in AAA to try and knock the rust off?
Steve Adams
4:43
He signed a big league deal and will start the season on the big league roster. Knocking the rust off will come in Spring Training -- possibly Winter Ball, too, though I haven't looked to see if he's taking another shot at that.

Santana (+$10M) to NYY for Clint Frazier.
Steve Adams
4:44
I don't see why the Yankees would trade Frazier for the right to have Santana on a two-year, $30MM contract

The White Sox would look like a better place for Harper now that Bryant is able to be traded.  Think the Sox can grab Bryant in a trade and sign Harper?
Steve Adams
4:47
Again, there's zero reason to think Bryant is going to be traded if read beyond that poorly written headline at ESPN. That report basically said the Cubs are basically "open to anything," which is the position they always take. They're not shopping Bryant, and I can't fathom them trading him across town to the White Sox. I also don't think the opportunity to play with a buddy is going to be any kind of real determining factor for Harper when he's looking at a record-setting contract.

If you're hinging your offseason hopes on some kind of Bryant/Harper scenario for the Southsiders, you're setting yourself up for disappointment.

Sandy Leon is on your non-tender candidates. If he's non tendered who backs up Vazquez
Steve Adams
4:50
Swihart or someone not currently in the organization. I don't see why they should pay Leon $2MM+ when he's hit .201/.262/.317 over the past two seasons. He's one of the worst hitters in baseball.
