Most likely place for Seiya Suzuki? Most fun?
Steve Adams
2:57
I picked him for the Rangers. Wide-open payroll, obvious desire to spend, clear openings in the outfield corners.

Give me a realistic trade scenario where the Padres are rid of Hosmer.
Steve Adams

I wrote about this a couple months ago for our Front Office subscribers. There aren't a lot of great matches, but loose frameworks (with other pieces involved)... Hosmer/Myers for Patrick Corbin; Hosmer/Aaron Hicks; Hosmer/Jason Heyward.

Various levels of cash and/or prospects would have to be added depending on the scenario, of course.

Kimbrel for Stott, who says no?
Steve Adams
3:01
Phillies aren't giving up Stott there
Phillies hired Howie Kendrick to their baseball ops department -- cool!

Does Josh Hader finally get traded this winter?
Steve Adams
3:03
I think this is the optimal time to trade him, yes. I never bought into it that much when Hader was making under $6MM, but he's going to jump to $10-11MM or something in that range and is controlled only through 2023. His value is peaking this winter, and it happens at a time when the Brewers' payroll is reaching record levels anyhow.

There's a coalescence there that makes me feel he's likelier to be traded than not.
Ben Cherrington
3:04
should I trade Jacob Stallings?
Steve Adams
3:05
Should be open to it. 32-year-old catcher with three years of club control and one of the best gloves in all of baseball. There'd be interest, and he'll be 34 with free agency around the corner by the time the Pirates have any real hope of turning things around.
Billy Eppler
3:06
how much will it take to get starling marte
Steve Adams
3:07
Around 4 years and $80MM.

Lots of questions like this one -- "How much will X get?" or "Which SS do you think the Tigers will sign?"

Tim Dierkes, Anthony Franco and I all put down our collective contract predictions and individual team picks for the Top 50 free agents last week. My thoughts generally haven't changed a ton since then:

In the past some position players tended to avoid San Francisco, do you think that's still the case?
Steve Adams
3:09
Oracle Park is probably still more desirable to pitchers than hitters, generally speaking, but the Giants just won the most games of any team in baseball this year. They're going to appeal to all free agents.

Am I the next Ray traded?
Steve Adams
3:09
I can see it, but Tyler Glasnow feels likelier.

Where does Luke Voit end up?
Steve Adams
3:11
Again depends on the NL DH a bit, but any of the Rangers, Twins, A's, Mariners, D-backs, Cubs, Brewers or Nats feel within the realm of possibility.

speaking of the Glasnow trade do u think that trade is gonna be for prospects or more of a same salary swap for a mlb regular
Steve Adams
3:13
If it's the Rays, I generally it'll be more young/controllable talent than a big leaguer already into his arb years.
Riley for MVP
3:13
Given Pina signing, are Braves positioning their C prospects in a trade?
Steve Adams
3:14
I don't think they signed Pina with the express intent of trading Contreras, but his presence obviously makes it easier for them to include Contreras in a trade package.

Langeliers would be more difficult to part with in general.

Cardinal more likely to get traded, Knizner or Dejong?
Steve Adams
3:15
DeJong if I'm picking between those two
Green Monster

Does Bohm get the Phils Chapman & Trivino?
Steve Adams
3:18
I actually quite like the idea of a Bohm-led package to acquire Chapman, but I'd think the A's want more than just him alone. Oakland generally targets some controllable back-of-the-rotation types who may not be big-name prospects but are decent bets to be fourth/fifth starters (Graveman, Bassitt and several others have come from this mold). Phils have some of those guys (Falter, for instance).
Mariners Mascot
3:18
Do You think the Mariners are a dark horse for Conforto ? It never came to mind, but he is from Seattle.
Steve Adams
3:18
They're already so deep in outfielders and prefer right-handed-hitting infield help.

Would a Myers for Kepler trade make sense?
Steve Adams
3:20
Kepler is controlled longer, cheaper and better. So for the Padres, sure it makes sense. For the Twins -- not so much.

Alright, I've got to wrap this up for the week. We had well over 1000 people in here today, so I apologize for the literal hundreds of questions I couldn't get to. I wish I could take more. You can always ask me questions on Twitter @Adams_Steve.

You can also consider our Front Office membership program, which does cost a few dollars a month but includes access to member-only chats on Fridays and a weekly mailbag with MLBTR owner Tim Dierkes. We still can't promise getting to every question, but generally speaking, you're more than 10x likelier to get a question answered in a Front Office chat/mailbag than in one the free chats on the site. You'll also get exclusive weekly pieces from Anthony and myself.

You can read more about it here:
https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/membership

Thanks for considering, thanks for chatting and enjoy the rest of your week everyone!
