Percentage probability that I'm in a different uniform next year?
Steve Adams
3:47
If he's not the likeliest player in baseball to be traded this offseason, he's damn near the top of the list
Jay
3:47
CHATWOOD to the angels 3 yr 20 mil?
Steve Adams
3:48
I think he's going to do better than the $20MM we had on our Top 50 -- I was driving the Chatwood hype train and trying to push him further than that. I had to fight to get him three years!

Angels are a decent on-paper fit but sounds like they're more focused on bats, so I'd expect him to go elsewhere.
Danny Salazar
3:49
Am I the most likely of the big 4 to go?  Miami for Ozuna?
Steve Adams
3:49
Likelier than Kluber and Carrasco, for sure. If the Marlins deal Ozuna, they're going to be looking for players with five or six years of control remaining -- not a similarly short-term piece like Salazar.

Do I have a job this year?
Steve Adams
3:49
Some team will at least give him a minor league deal

will ohtnai follow darvish?
Steve Adams
3:51
I see that suggestion a lot and I feel it's just kind of lazy. (Not a knock on you, specifically)

He's his own person and even though he grew up watching Darvish and assuredly modeled some of his game after him, that doesn't instantly mean he's just going to say whoever signs Darvish gets him. What about forming his own legacy? And what if Darvish signs with a team that can't give Ohtani the opportunity to pitch and to hit? There are so, so many factors in his landing spot -- being teammates with a guy he loved as a kid doesn't seem like it'll be any kind of determining force.
3:52
Plus, maybe he'd rather pitch against his idol and beat him.

why all the hate for Grish in cards land he projects on a 162 season by baseball referance to hit 250 ops 300 25 hr 70 rbis good d and cheap am i missing something> with Fowler and Pham in the outfield we need him for a xtra of.
Steve Adams
3:53
Think the Cardinals are just tired of his general lack of plate discipline and poor approach, and that is true of many fans as well. He's still a decently valuable player with the CF defense and power, but he's not someone I'd love as a regular in my lineup so I can understand the tepid perception.
Free agency
3:53
When will the chips start falling? Can't wait to see what my cardinals do!
Steve Adams
3:54
Normally they have by this point in the offseason. Things are being held up considerably by Ohtani and Stanton, which is part of the reason the MLBPA is so focused on the posting agreement and ensuring that players must be posted by mid November. (Though sounds as if that's already been pushed back to Dec. 1 now)
Tigers fan
3:55
Do the tigers take a chance on Brugman?
Steve Adams
3:56
He's the type of player they should be willing to keep on the 40-man, yeah. Could see several teams being interested, but Detroit has waiver priority over most. He'd make sense for the Giants, Blue Jays, Royals and others as well
Orioles
Wade Davis
3:56
Where do I land?  Will Theo pony up the cash for me to stay in chi-town
Steve Adams
3:57
Cubs haven't shown a proclivity for paying top dollar for relievers under this regime. (Financially speaking, that is) -- I think he'll land elsewhere and the Cubs will trade for multiple years of a closer or sign someone like Morrow or Minor with the idea of them pitching the ninth.
mike
3:57
billy McKinney as yanks backup first baseman or dude they sign a vet?
Steve Adams
3:58
I'd imagine that job goes to Tyler Austin. I still like the Yankees as an Alex Avila fit, and he could function in that role to some extent as well.
Yo
3:58
Corbin for Hector rondom?
Steve Adams
3:59
I think Corbin has more value than Rondon, but if the Cubs add a sweetener perhaps.

So, looks like the Mets are looking for a 2B, CF and a nifty RP. Where do you see them being most aggressive?
Steve Adams
4:00
I don't know that they're pushing all that hard for a CF. I think they're more likely to look at 2B, 1B and RP based on reports out of the New York media. Luckily for them, all three of those markets are flooded with options in both free agency and trade
Jeff
4:01
Which Indians free agent is most likely to resign with the team Bruce, Santana, Jackson, Smith, Shaw?
Steve Adams
4:01
Smith or A-Jax because they'll cost the least? The Indians don't have tons of cash to re-sign the bigger names.
Zac
4:01
Am I crazy for thinking over their next contract Addison Reed will be better than Wade Davis
Steve Adams
4:01
No. Reed is what, three years younger? And he's quite good.
Trevor
4:02
Do the mariners go after Arrieta ?
Steve Adams
4:02
Free agency isn't Jerry Dipoto's MO -- especially not free agents of that caliber. I can see them on Cobb or Lynn but not much higher than that.
Cj
4:02
What u think of the jays signing Cargo and trading pillar for infield depth with Alford or tescor taking over cf
Steve Adams
4:03
I don't see how that makes them definitively better. Pillar's glove alone gives him a two-win floor. CarGo was terrible last season.
Cubs hired Will Venable as their 1B coach
Also added former Pirates/Marlins pitching guru Jim Benedict as a special assistant. in the front office
Mark
4:04
Will the dodgers get envolvedwith the Stanton talks
Steve Adams
4:05
I can't imagine they won't be involved to some degree; they check in and explore the possibility of adding virtually every top-tier talent that's available
Mike
4:05
Welington Castilo to WAS?
Steve Adams
4:05
I like the fit. Wieters was basically unplayable last year. Don't need to compound the mistake of signing him by giving him everyday ABs, and Castillo would be an upgrade.
