Is Bauer really going to sign a 1-year deal?
Steve Adams
2:44
I don't think even Trevor Bauer knows  the answer to that yet.

Will Gardner remain a Bronx Bomber?
Steve Adams
2:45
I think so

Latest word on Sugano?
Steve Adams
2:45
His posting window opened like 6 hours ago.
Edwin Encarnacion
2:45
do I get an mlb deal?
Steve Adams
2:45
I don't see how, given the lack of defensive value, his age and the miserable 2020 results.

Thoughts on the Wisler move for the Giants?
Steve Adams
2:46
I was pretty surprised the Twins non-tendered Wisler. I like the pickup.
It shouldn't be their only RP addition of the offseason, of course, but he can be controlled two years, missed bats in droves this past season ... it's a nice value add.
Re: Nats

Who's less likely to re-sign with their current team? LeMahieu or Turner?
Steve Adams
2:48
I feel it's likelier the Yankees let DJ walk than the Dodgers let Turner walk. LeMahieu might genuinely find more money than the Yankees want to spend. That won't be the case with Turner.

Which team is the best landing spot for Marcus Semien?
Steve Adams
2:50
The Phillies, Reds and A's at this point, but I don't think any of them will spend enough to get him.

Blue Jays, Twins, Yankees (if DJ leaves) all make sense to me. First two would need to move some pieces around (Jays play Bichette or Biggio at 3B; Twins move Polanco or Arraez into utility role with other taking 2B).

Are the Reds actually making room for a high priced SS? Or is the GM lying to the fans?
Steve Adams
2:51
Krall hasn't said "we're dumping salary to make room for a shortstop," he's just spoken of better ways they feel they could allocate the resources they've saved. I question whether they'll actually spend the money.

Bauer 3 yrs 33 per, who would pay it?
Steve Adams
2:52
I don't think Bauer would take it. Lots of teams would, or should, pay it.

2:52
do Braves go after springer if not ozuna?
Steve Adams
2:53
If the Braves pass on Ozuna it'll be because Alex Anthopoulos doesn't want to tie up long-term dollars in a single asset like that. It's why he didn't sign Donaldson and why he's preferred short-term, high-dollar gambles on prominent names.

If they let Ozuna walk for those reasons, I don't see them throwing that mentality out the window for Springer, no.

Are Dodgers extending Seagers contract before he becomes a free agent
Steve Adams
2:53
He's a Scott Boras client coming off a monstrous rebound season. I highly doubt it.

Profar to the Red Sox to be the regular second baseman? $7 million on a 1 year deal?
Steve Adams
2:55
Both the A's and the Padres have been dissatisfied with Profar's glove there. Outside of his age and the fact that like six years and two major shoulder surgeries ago, Profar was the game's No. 1 prospect, I don't see much to get excited about.

If I'm the Sox, I'd rather have any of Kolten Wong, Tommy La Stella, Cesar Hernandez

Chances the Astros re-sign Brantley and/or Springer? What would it take for Brantley? Do you think a 2/32 deal, same as his previous deal, is overpaying?
Steve Adams
2:57
I don't think they're going to re-sign Springer. Brantley, I could see. I imagine if they called and offered 2/32 right now, it would be a done deal. I expect him to sign for less than that -- probably with a team that doesn't have a full-time DH like Alvarez.

2:57
Any word on long time great SP Felix Hernandez and Cole Hamels? They haven't filed retirement papers have they?
Steve Adams
2:58
Hamels is going to play next year. Haven't heard a King Felix update, but I doubt he wants his career to end with a 2020 opt out so I imagine he'll be back looking for a minor league pact somewhere once again.

With Kyle Freeland, Antonio Senzatela, and Jon Gray all reaching their final arbitration years - whom do you think the Rockies will resign of the group, and will they look to extend German Marquez?
Steve Adams
2:59
They extended Marquez through 2024 back in April 2019.
3:00
Also neither of Freeland or Senzatela is close to free agency. They're both controlled through 2023 (and I wouldn't give Senzatela a long-term deal anyhow). I think Gray will head out and look for a different setting after 2021.

Will anyone sign JT realmuto for 6 years?
Steve Adams
3:01
I was at six years early in our free agent predictions talks, but I've come down to around five years now. I don't think six is impossible, but five seems much safer, especially if the Mets aren't going to play a prominent role in his market.

Still don't get the Randall Grichuk signing. And he's arguably put up better numbers since he signed. Does he have a negative trade value?
Steve Adams
3:03
I wrote at the time of the signing that was pretty perplexing. I agree.

He wouldn't get close to the three years and $28MM he's still owed if he became a free agent suddenly, so yeah, the contract is underwater.

Hand to dodgers 2/30
Steve Adams
3:03
If the Dodgers were willing to pay him that, they'd have claimed him at 1/10

What happening in Seattle? Haven't even seen the Mariners pop up in any rumors.
Steve Adams
3:04
They'll look for some rotation and bullpen options. I don't expect them to be too active on the position-player side of things, although they'd be a fun landing spot for Nelson Cruz if the Twins go another direction at DH
