Is Kepler staying in Minnesota at this point? Him and Polanco were both oft-speculated trade targets and with Polanco gone, does Kepler get moved?
Steve Adams
1:53
I expect he's staying put now. His production June through September was pretty eye-catching, and the defense creates a pretty high floor. If they were to move anyone, I think a $6.3MM utility guy (Kyle Farmer) is a luxury for a team with payroll concerns and a want to add further SP a RHH OF
and a RHH OF*

Do you think the Red Sox would consider trading Devers to fully kick in a rebuild? His comments today showed frustration with the lack of spending
Steve Adams

No, I don't think that's in the cards. I think you'll see more short-term additions (a la Giolito, Hendriks) and upside plays as the team hopes for some younger core pieces to emerge. I don't really get their plan, if I'm being honest. The Red Sox have a huge gap between current spending and their all-time high. They'd make a great landing spot for Montgomery, Snell, or any number of pitchers who've already signed elsewhere.

Red Sox fans are plenty justified to be angry at how the offseason has transpired.

Franmil Reyes, Eddie Rosario, Danny Duffy , Mike Zunino....who gets signed ?
SF GIANTS

Should we be angry as to how this season has unfolded
Steve Adams
1:59
I would be. I wrote about what a lousy offseason it's been for them for Trade Rumors Front Office subscribers a few weeks back. Signing Soler helped a little bit, but to go into the season with Logan Webb and a bunch of shrug emojis in the rotation is just wild, considering the free agent class of pitchers that was out there this winter and the resources available to the Giants.

If an extension is not in the cards why not trade Gleyber Torres now rather lose him for nothing.
Steve Adams

They wouldn't lose him for nothing; he'll be a QO candidate. And even if they don't want to make him a QO, they're still trying to win in 2024, and Gleyber is one of their better hitters.

Are the Rangers out of the running for a Montgomery reunion?
Steve Adams

Chris Young all but said as much
And the writing has been on the wall awhile before he even publicly said he doesn't expect more additions

"I just couldn't find that starting pitcher that was going to impact us at this time, for not only the right amount of years - but the right salary at this time"

Is Mike Rizzo saying:
a) I made competitive offers on big names but everyone would rather go to a contender, or
b) I wanted to sign guys but our valuations didn't lineup with their asking price, or
c) We're still tanking and I didn't offer anyone real term, or
d) Ownership wouldn't greenlight real spending

Probably a combination of B, C and D. I think the Nationals have had a pretty weak offseason themselves, and that comment from Rizzo was pretty astounding. You couldn't find someone to impact you more than Jake Irvin will? The Nats are going to go into the year with Josiah Gray, MacKenzie Gore, Patrick Corbin, Trevor Williams and Irvin. Cade Cavalli is interesting but he's coming back from TJS. They're one Gore injury away from disaster, and even just signing someone to stabilize things would've made sense. It still would. I don't understand at all why the Nats wouldn't sign Lorenzen for a couple years, for instance. The in-house group is not good. At all, and the upper-levels of the farm are thin, at best.
2:04
I know they're not expecting to win this season, but the SP is so perilously thin that I can't fathom them going into the season with this group. They added Zach Davies on an NRI, which I guess at least gives them some boring innings potential.

Alright, I've got to wrap up. I'm on Twitter / X @Adams_Steve for more questions, etc.

Sorry for all the questions I couldn't get to, as always. You can consider signing up for our Trade Rumors Front Office subscription, which grants access to a weekly subscriber-only chat where your chances are obviously quite a bit higher. You'll also get weekly email analysis pieces from Anthony and me in your inbox, ad-free viewing, access to MLBTR's Contract Tracker and Agency Database, and more. Tim Dierkes just relaunched his weekly email mailbag feature last week, too. It starts at $2.99/month. You can learn more and sign up here:
