Hi Steve! What’s your favorite baseball video game, past or present?
Steve Adams
2:52
I don't play tons of baseball games (though I do like video games in general). MVP 2005 and MLB The Show '06 were my jam back in the day, but it's been a long while since I played a baseball game for more than a few odd minutes.
2:53
Picked up The Show '19 for like $3 used at some point and played for like an hour. Don't think I've fired it back up since. (Think it was '19 anyway ... Bryce on the cover?)

Whom among Witt, Torkelson, R. Greene,  Julio Rodriguez and Rutschman makes their MLB team’s Opening Day 26-man roster, assuming no change in “service time” rules?
Steve Adams
2:55
No changes to service time? I'd give Witt the best chance. We don't know how the Tigers will handle their top prospects now that they're in win-now mode. Rodriguez heads to AAA, I think. Rutschman for sure in the minors.

Kiriloff busts out this year, no?
Steve Adams
2:56
Played through a torn tendon in his wrist the entire time he was in the big leagues last year. I think Kirilloff is going to hit, and hit a lot.
Bird Talk
2:57
Is the John Means trade talk all smoke and no fire. I can't believe that the Orioles would trade their only reliable starter as if they have a surplus.
Steve Adams
2:58
They control him for three more years and don't expect to be good in 2022. Best case scenario, they're looking at 2023-24 as a return to respectability. It's not about the current product; it's about whether they could receive sufficient future value for Means and about how comfortable they are with the risk that he blows out completely. He did have some injury troubles this season.

Why don’t we see more front loaded contracts? The Cubs for example pay Correa $50 mil the first 3 years of contract while there payroll is low??
Steve Adams
2:59
A dollar in 2026 is worth less than a dollar in 2022.

Who do you see the Braves adding to their rotation?
Steve Adams
3:00
Total guess, but they like the high-AAV one year deals for vets, so c'mon down Zack Greinke?
Twin Town

How do you feel about Bailey Ober?   Do you think he has ceiling to be ace potential?
Steve Adams
3:00
Ace? No. But serviceable fourth starter? Sure.

Dejong and Woodard for kimbel
Steve Adams
3:01
Derrick Goold with the St. Louis Post-Dispatch has reported consistently over the past few weeks that the Cards are sticking with DeJong.

Will the A’s completely tear it down after all?
Steve Adams
3:02
The A's never really tear it down to the studs. Even if they move Olson, Chapman, Manaea, etc. -- they always tend to prioritize getting some MLB-ready pieces back in return, even if those guys aren't deemed "top prospects" (or are top prospects who've not yet figured everything out at the MLB Level).
3:03
They tend to do pretty well with those guys, too, so I'd expect them to unearth a few decent pieces that way. Heck, that's what Chris Bassitt and Marcus Semien were when they came over in the Samardzija trade. Kendall Graveman in the Donaldson deal. Montas in the Hill/Reddick deal, etc.
Fans focus a lot on Top 100 lists. Teams don't care so much about those public rankings, and the A's, in particular, seem content to add players they like even if those players aren't the sexiest in terms of publicly available rankings.

Would Jd davis and Dom Smith get me Sonny Gray for one year or possibly one of the 3 A's starters that are on the market?
Steve Adams
3:04
No, I don't think the Mets would get one of the Reds/A's starters for Dom/ or JD

How much trade value does Eric Lauer have? Does he look like a tradeable option to bring offense back to Brewers?
Steve Adams
3:06
Maybe more than you'd think based on the pure numbers. He's not an ace or anything, but three years of a legitimate fourth starter type isn't nothing. (Could argue he's more based on the 2021 ERA, though I expect that to regress, and he's pretty much a five-inning-per-start guy).

Yes, I feel he'd bring back a bat that could help the Brewers.
