Possible, sure, but few teams have the financial ability to try to blow Kimbrel away with the type of offer that'd make him consider pitching in a setup mode. I suppose it was overly simplistic to just tell them to sign him -- the intent was to say if I were them, I'd be trying to sign him with a huge AAV on a shorter deal

Is Chance Sisco a potential post hype sleeper candidate?   It is a VERY small sample size but he is ripping it up in Spring Training with 4 homers and 10 RBIs.

I don't see any reason to have wholly given up on him. Sure, his stock is down, but he only just turned 24, and it's not like the Orioles have anyone else who is in the conversation for catcher of the future in Baltimore
If he hits, the opportunities will be there. I'm not "out" on him.

Even if you want to AGGRESSIVELY predict Judge's arbitration earnings and say he'll earn $10MM In arb1, $20MM in arb2 and $30MM in arb3 (which is way too rudimentary, but hey, this is an off-the-cuff answer in a chat), you're talking $60MM in arbitration. That means at 8/250, you'd be paying him $190MM over five seasons for his would-be free-agent years -- a $38MM annual rate.

In other words, as good as Judge is -- the Yankees wouldn't pay that.

Move Chen to the 'pen. He stinks, can't locate and his velocity is down. Get Alcantara and Lopez into the rotation and see what you have in them. Agree?

I think you just bounce Chen back and forth between the 'pen and rotation this season as needed. I wouldn't let him get in the way of someone like Alcantara or Lopez getting innings if they're deserving of it, but I also wouldn't leave one of them out there to get killed if it's to their developmental detriment. If none of your AAA arms are making a huge case to pitch in the Majors, have Chen start. Once they start forcing the issue they should be given the chance, whether it's those two, Neidert, Gallen, etc.

I figure the Jays will have Stroman and Sanchez available. Reds will have Wood out there if they aren't contending. Marlins will probably listen on Jose Urena (not that he's great, but he's controllable). Any of the Rangers guys (Lynn, Shelby, Minor, Smyly). Michael Fulmer, Matthew Boyd.
