Reds for me.
Medic Mike

Who is your biggest name moved at the trade deadline? I’m yesterday’s chat Jeff picked Machado....
Steve Adams
2:23
I'd echo that sentiment and add several of his teammates (Britton, Jones perhaps, Brach, etc.)
Wild wild NL West
2:23
Could we see 3 NL West Teams in the playoffs this year?
Steve Adams
2:23
Could -- it happened last year after all. I think the Brewers, Cardinals and (if healthier) the Mets will all challenge making that a repeat feat though.

Is there any word on Huston Street or Drew Storen? Will they pitch in 2018?
Steve Adams
2:24
Storen had Tommy John surgery late last year. He will not.
Street's past few seasons have been ruined by injuries; I can see him inking a minor league deal but I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't pitch in the bigs at all this year.

If Ryan Zimmerman starts strong after essentially skipping Spring Training, will other players demand the same?
Steve Adams
2:26
He didn't skip Spring Training; he spent a ton of time playing in minor league games, where he can get an at-bat every inning if he pleases because they don't apply traditional rules to games on the minor league side in Spring Training. Zim has 12 years under his belt with the Nats... I'm not surprised they're OK with him kind of marching to a different beat in camp

Who are the best Free Agents not currently signed to an MLB team?
Steve Adams
2:28
Was looking at a potential post on this for the afternoon! It's not an especially great list, ha. Melky, Mark Reynolds, Bautista, Lackey ... it's admittedly weak enough that I'm not fully sure it needs to be laid out.
Derek
2:28
No way Chris Davis is a worse leadoff hitter than Alcides Escobar
Steve Adams
2:29
There's a good one.
Esky has a .286 OBP over the past three seasons and Ned Yost, somehow, still saw fit to bat him leadoff TWENTY FIVE TIMES last year.
He OBP'ed .188 in those 25 games.

2:30
If they could, would the Twins trade Tyler Kinley for JT Chargois right now?
Steve Adams
2:31
If they valued JTC more than Kinley, they wouldn't have put him on waivers, they'd just have given Kinely back to the Marlins.

Billy Hamilton a worse lead off hitter than both? Haha the reds still bat him 1st
Steve Adams
2:31
He's batting ninth today

2:31
whats the injury status on Flowers?
Steve Adams
2:32
Sounds like an oblique strain, which typically means a month or more. No definitive word from the Braves yet though.

2:33
What is the first team not named the Dodgers to win the NL West?
Steve Adams
2:35
Strange as it feels, I'd probably pick the Padres. D-backs aren't going to top them this year or next, and then they're looking at a pretty big transition with Goldy hitting FA, Greinke aging, etc.

And while the Rockies have plenty of impressive young pitching, I think they overspent on the bullpen and Desmond in recent offseasons, and they'll likely lose Arenado/Blackmon soon.

Giants aren't taking the division in '18 or anytime soon with their aging roster and thin farm.

Padres are on the rise and could see their next window align with decline/retooling phases from SF and ARI.

2:36
Which current son of a major league will be better than Dad?
Steve Adams
2:36
Cody Bellinger has already done more in the Majors than his dad did.

Any good relievers that are on their free agent year?
Steve Adams
2:38
Next year's crop of FA relievers is pretty stacked. Kimbrel, Andrew Miller, Cody Allen, Zach Britton, Brad Brach. Kelvin Herrera a nice target if he rebounds. AJ Ramos another nice second-tier option.
2:39
Full list of 2018-19 FAs is here: https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/12/2018-19-mlb-free-agents.html

And also always available on the sidebar of MLBTR's desktop version.

2:39
Thanks Steve, for "exposing my shortcomings" compared to my sonny-boy!
Steve Adams
2:39
Sorry Clay!
Joey Gallo
2:40
What’s the chance I win the home run title this season?
Steve Adams
2:40
I'd pick Stanton, but if I were making a top 5 list of predictions or so, I'd put Gallo on there.
Ronald Acuna
2:40
What am I working on in the minors?
Steve Adams
2:40
You're working on getting to the point where you fall 1-2 days shy of a full year of MLB service when the Braves call you up
JR
2:41
Considering that list of free agent relievers- and how much they will cost- do you think the Padres move Hand for a huge haul?
Steve Adams
2:41
I think they'll just be happy to hang onto him at a ludicrously below-market rate. I can't believe he took that extension. Kudos to Preller & Co.
Mat Latos
2:42
Do I ever pitch in the Majors again?
Steve Adams
2:42
Would be curious to see him give up the rotation aspirations and work out of the 'pen.
Victor Robles
2:43
Michael A Taylor seems a good reason to keep me down a while. If Taylor and I are both good this year, will he be a trade chip to open my space in June?
