Odds Moran breaks camp with Pirates? I don’t know his exact big league time clock, but I imagine it’s low enough he stays down until clearing super two status. Wouldn’t that make bringing Neil Walker plausible? Walker at 3B, then slide to 2B and use Harrison as super utility, maybe even regular SS when fly ball pitcher is on mound?

Moran already has 107 days of big league service. They'd have to keep him down until September if they wanted to avoid Super Two. If he doesn't break camp with the team, it'll be because they feel he needs more AAA time. I expect him to be their Opening Day third baseman though.

I wasn't especially surprised given his age and the dying market for corner bats. Francona basically said he doesn't expect Nap to make the roster but the Indians wanted to give him a place to play. He'll probably opt out of his deal late in the month and land a bench spot with another club.

I doubt he gets a chance until a ways into the season. He's got a minor league option left and they have Pence and Cutch for the corners at present. They'll want him to keep honing his new swing on an everyday basis.

Arbitration contracts aren't guaranteed unless specifically bargained as such. (99% of them are not, more or less)

If a player is cut in the first half of Spring Training, or sooner, he's only guaranteed the pro-rated portion of his salary for 30 days. In the second half of ST but before Opening Day and it jumps to 45 days

I find Boras wildly entertaining and think it's hilarious that some fans seem to think he's the only agent who enters the market with crazy expectations. Every agent does, and every agent wants to get the most money possible for their clients. It's what they do.

Different projection algorithms. The two sites aren't related in any way.
