Do I need another starting pitcher?
Steve Adams
3:52
In a word: Yes.
Ryan
3:52
Couldn't the Angels have recalled Bridwell within 10 days due to JC Ramirez going on the DL?
Steve Adams
3:52
They made a different corresponding move at the time Ramirez was DL'ed. Can't immediately recall who it was.
3:53
But yes, the 10-day minimum for an optional assignment doesn't apply if a player is recalled to replace a player who's going on the MLB DL
Rays
3:53
Are we the worst team in baseball this year?
Steve Adams
3:53
That'd go to Florida's other team.
Padres Fan
3:54
Do you think the padres will extend Galvis?
Steve Adams
3:55
Ron Fowler said earlier this offseason that he hoped Galvis would be around beyond 2018. I'd imagine they'll see if they can work something out at a decent price, but it'll be tough, since the Pads will probably be valuing Galvis more as a utility player with Tatis and Urias looming, plus Asuaje, Spangenberg, etc. on the roster.

Am I getting hosed by being sent down to AAA?
Steve Adams
3:55
No more than the dozens of players this has happened to in previous years under the current service time/free-agent infrastructure.
John
3:56
What's the Orioles plan with Hunter Harvey?
Steve Adams
3:56
Just an extra arm for the 'pen for a few days before he goes back to Double-A to work as a starter.
Ben
3:58
is Jose Bautista going to sign anywhere? Rangers?
Steve Adams
3:58
I agree with Tim's take from yesterday -- could be forced into retirement because he doesn't seem willing to sign with a non-contender and probably wouldn't go to the minors with a contending club.

Report: Danny Salazar still not even throwing full bullpen session in Arizona.  Is it time to face the reality that he is destined to move to the bullpen full time?
Steve Adams
4:00
Haven't seen that report yet, though I've been a bit out of the loop this morning. I don't think he has the durability for a starter's workload but would be very intrigued to see him in the role Brad Peacock is in with the Astros right now.

If Shin Soo Choo's start is for real, can the Rangers flip him for something of value?
Steve Adams
4:02
It's 49 plate appearances. He has a 62% ground-ball rate. I don't think it's real, but even if he somehow sustained it, he's owed $63MM through 2020. They'd be lucky just to get someone to take on a decent chunk of the salary.
Brad
4:03
What player off to an ugly start do you think will bounce back?
Steve Adams
4:03
Stanton's the most obvious one, but there are dozens. There's virtually no point in fretting over someone slumping a week into the season.
Rangers fan
4:04
Do you think the Rangers set themselves up to tank this year?
Steve Adams
4:04
I don't think they set themselves up to tank -- they still spent money. But they didn't act extremely aggressively because they knew it was an extreme long shot when it comes to making the playoffs, and adding Jake Arrieta/Greg Holland wasn't going to change that fact.

4:05
Is Casey Mize from Auburn the number 1 pick as of now?
Steve Adams
4:05
He's in the mix, but even the Tigers don't know who they're taking at 1-1 right now. I did see Kiley McDaniel from Fangraphs tweet yesterday that Detroit is also looking at Jerrad Kelenic, a prep OF from Wisconsin.

Swanson showing signs of life has a hitter!
Steve Adams
4:06
He has a .414 BABIP and is making less hard contact than in 2017.
I think Swanson will be fine, but a week's worth of BABIP luck isn't enough to get really excited.
King Erie
4:07
If Crawford can't hit am I the SS for the res of the year?
Steve Adams
4:07
If they feel that Crawford needs additional time in the minors to work on his offense, I can see Kingery holding down the fort at SS for awhile yeah.
Matt
4:08
Who is going to challenge the Dodgers to sign Clayton Kershaw this offseason?
Steve Adams
4:09
Any team with deep pockets is going to go after him ... Dodgers, Yankees, Red Sox, Rangers, Cubs, Giants, Nationals -- probably will see the Twins and some others who pursued Darvish linked to him as well, though hard to imagine they'd be a serious suitor in the end.

What’s next for Hochevar and Billy Butler
Steve Adams
4:11
I'd imagine Hochevar will sign a minor league deal somewhere. I can't see Butler drumming up much interest. Asia? Retirement?
Heather
4:11
Hi do you think Adam Lind or Aaron hill will get signed anytime soon hopefully??
Steve Adams
4:11
Someone will grab Lind at least on a minor league deal. Hill seems like he could be done.
Henry
4:11
Do you think Gallardo will ever find a team that wants him?
Steve Adams
4:12
There's not a ton to like when looking at his last few seasons.
O's just DFA'ed Nestor Cortes
One of their Rule 5 picks
