I don't think Vaughn/Sheets would or should get the White Sox net either of Mullins or Reynolds.
JBJ/Gardner probably isn't seen as an upgrade over in-house options, and Gardner would need time to ramp up anyway
3:27
If Robert is back tomorrow, as Hahn says, you've got a Vaughn-Robert-Pollock alignment most days. That's solid.

Our home team won’t owe a guarantee dime to anyone basically after next season is that very unique at this juncture?
Steve Adams
3:28
Reds have both Votto ($25MM) and Moustakas ($18MM) on the books for next year. There are other clubs with lower 2023 commitments than that $43MM total.

All the Yankees articles are from 3 years ago, is that just a bug or there's no new content.

Have seen a couple people mention this bug with the app. If you fill out our contact form with some specifics -- type of phone, operating system, etc. -- I'll forward it along to one of our developers. Sorry about the hassle.

We're planning some upgrades for the app in 2022. It's due for some improvements.

Cincy Crafty said "after next year" and you answered as if 2023 was 2024.
Steve Adams
3:31
Ah! My mistaker.
Mistake* -- quite the time to make a typo.
3:33
There are still a few teams in that same boat. The Orioles and A's don't have any guaranteed money on the books. And, unlike the Reds, they don't owe post-2023 buyouts to any veterans (as the Reds do with Votto and Moose)
Giants only have DeSclafani on the 2024 books

Not answering my questions on purpose?
Steve Adams
3:34
I have singled you out from the 500-plus readers in here (which is a light day) and chosen to ignore them, yes. :)

For real -- there are obviously hundreds of questions I can't get to at a given time.
Thanks for the patience and sorry to all those I can't address

should the cards consider trading Nolan Gorman? Word is he doesn’t look good at 2B, he’s blocked by arenado, and would net a pretty good return. Although, He’s also the exact type of LH power hitter they’ve coveted… your thoughts?
Steve Adams
3:35
Nothing says Gorman can't play at second base and/or DH. Plus, injuries happen. The depth is a good thing. I don't think you close the door on trading him entirely, but I wouldn't be shopping him around as if there's no way you can get him into the lineup.
Chris Young/Jon Daniels

So yeah, half a billion dollars later, my middle infield isn’t performing well and the notorious slow starting Semien is REALLY slow thus far.  What should I do having chosen this path with several IF options knocking at the door in the minors?  Short term and long term?  Take my lumps for another year and further retool?
Steve Adams
3:37
I wouldn't really put much stock into slow starts from Semien or Seager. It's not even three weeks of games, and offense is down league-wide.

You haven’t answered any questions on the Cucamonga Cuckoo's. Why do you hate my team?
Steve Adams
3:37
Have to come clean -- I prefer the Toucans.
Fred Flintstone
3:37
should I be concerned with the early injuries to the tigers young SP?
Steve Adams
3:39
Hard not to be concerned with Mize when we're talking a ligament issue in his elbow (albeit not the UCL). That's still ominous all the same, and one of the leading predicting factors to Tommy John surgeries is other elbow/arm-related injuries.

I wasn't nearly as high on Manning coming into 2022, but any shoulder problem is always going to be a source of concern. Skubal looks great, though

Why do people think Degrom will come back and be elite level. He is coming back from elbow and shoulder injury. It can’t be all roses right?
Steve Adams
3:42
Well, he's coming back from a scapula injury, which seems notably different than if he had a torn rotator cuff or labrum or anterior capsule. DeGrom's entire career has been an anomaly. I think people just don't want to bet against elite talent, and I'd generally agree. I expect him to be awesome when he returns, because he's the best in the world at what he does when he's healthy.
Super Adell
3:42
Have we gotten past all the "Trade Jo Adell" questions?
Steve Adams
3:42
Have still gotten like a dozen of 'em today probably.
Kevin
3:43
Long term who should A’s keep…Murphy or Langeliers?
Steve Adams
3:43
Langeliers is the likelier one, because they still have all of his pre-arb years ahead. I think they're comparable in terms of skill set.

Regarding Judge, aren't California teams his most likely destination, and this is from a Yankee fan.
Steve Adams
3:44
His likeliest destination is the team that offers him the most money

Do you think the bad national press surrounding the A’s situation will force John Fisher to consider selling?
Steve Adams
3:46
Bad national press surrounding the A's is nothing new.

3:46
What do you think Rosario and a prospect could get the Guardians
Steve Adams
3:48
"A prospect" is overwhelmingly vague. You could call Tanner Burns and Richie Palacios prospects, but they're in no way the same as George Valera or Brayan Rocchio, for instance.

I don't think Amed Rosario is teeming with trade value. Year and a half of control left, not a great hitter, not a great defender at any position.
BB curious
3:48
Is it just me or do walks seem to be way down league wide? Curious on how it stands to the past several seasons. Seems to just be far more contact than actually working counts deep.
Steve Adams
3:48
Hitters have walked at an 8.9% clip so far in 2022. It was 8.7% in 2021.
Don
3:49
Is Pagan now the #1 closer in Minnesota, or are they continuing to insist on a committee?
Steve Adams
3:49
I'd imagine Pagan is the top option, but Baldelli will play matchups and there'll be times when Pagan isn't available of course.
