Kudos for making your username the exact current name of my fantasy team in my favorite keeper league, btw.
Keon Bruxton
3:25
Will I ever get a chance or am I consider a bust?
Steve Adams
3:26
I mean, calling him a bust would indicate that he was at one point a hugely touted prospect or something. He never really was. I think he'll get a chance with another organization eventually following a trade. Maybe this summer even.

Do you see AJ Pollock going on the DL today or tmrw after getting his thumb examined more thoroughly?
Steve Adams
3:27
A sprain is a tear of a ligament or tendon, so I'd expect him to go on the DL, yes. The extent of the damage will determine the length of his absence. We have no great way of knowing beyond pure speculation right now, though, and there's little point in that

Who do you see trading for me?
Steve Adams
3:29
I thought the Giants should've traded for him this winter rather than ever signing Austin Jackson. Marlins make some sense, though if they loved him he'd probably have been in the Yelich deal. Braves could use a better fourth OF than Preston Tucker -- and a RH bat to complement Ender/Markakis would be nice. Orioles, Rangers ... lots of teams could stand to add an OF with several years of club control remaining.

Do we go after a 2B or CF?
Steve Adams
3:31
Sounds like they're not keen on moving Gordon back to the infield, which makes sense if they're looking at him as a CF long term and want to get him as many reps as possible out there. They can't really go with Beckham for three months, so I have to assume they'll look at a more legitimate upgrade, even if it's just some kind of waiver claim or minor trade.

That's something we'll maybe examine more closely in a full post in the days to come.

Could a team have a PED clause, and void the contract after a positive test?
Steve Adams
3:34
That just seems like opening Pandora's box. There are tens, and in some cases hundreds of millions of dollars on the line with those deals. I don't think it's out of question that we'd see owners try to have players on albatross contracts slipped some form of banned substance, nor would it be out of the question to see a player on a mega-deal test positive and then claim the team slipped him something to get out of the deal.

It's be chaos, and it won't happen.

Markakis.....keep or trade while he's hot?
Steve Adams
3:35
I don't think there's a team in the league that thinks Nick Markakis is suddenly an elite power hitter at age 34 when there's very little in his batted-ball profile that has changed and appear sustainable. They still wouldn't get much for him.

If you're asking for fantasy purposes, shop him hard.

I know, he's 20. But, are his struggles worrisome? Outside of 3 nicely hit bombs, there hasn't been much except KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
Steve Adams
3:36
He has a 27% K rate, which isn't that crazy for a 20-year-old, and he's walking at a 9% clip. I think he's been fine, though he's definitely hitting the ball on the ground way, way too much. For a 20-year-old who hasn't played a full season in either AA or AAA though, what he's doing is excellent.

Will Brad Hand be traded? If so, Astros best spot for him?
Steve Adams
3:37
I viewed the extension as a sign that they're planning to keep him around not trade him.

Who is Keon Bruxton?... do these people mean Keon Broxton or Byron Buxton?
Steve Adams
3:38
Ha -- I've been talking about Keon Broxton.
Jerome
3:38
Will Tyler White ever get another chance?
Steve Adams
3:39
Probably not with the Astros, but I'd like to see a club in need of a bench bat and some corner infield depth give him a chance. The Triple-A numbers are always intriguing.
Luis Urias
3:39
Could the Mariners try to grab Spangenberg, Pirela, or Asuaje from the Padres to fill the 2B gap, clearing up space for Urias to be promoted?
Steve Adams
3:39
I think the Mariners and Padres line up nicely, yeah.
Buddy
3:39
Scooter Gennett to the Mariners?
Steve Adams
3:39
Also plausible.

3:40
Addison Russell, Mike Montgomery, and Adbert Alzolay for Machado.  Who hangs up first?
Steve Adams
3:41
I just don't see why the Cubs would give up several years of Russell and Montgomery plus one of their best pitching prospects (if not their best).

I think you're looking at one premium prospect and some other lower-level pieces -- something like what the Tigers got for JDM but with a better centerpiece.

Ryan Zimmerman skipped Spring training and even got the 2nd day of the season off. It is pretty clear he was never healthy. I doubt he'll be back at the end of his 10 day DL period.  Any thoughts on how long he'll be gone?
Steve Adams
3:42
He didn't really skip Spring Training -- he spent much of it playing in minor league games where he could get 5-6 ABs in one simulated game setting.

Will a strong showing from Clint Frazier effectively take the Yankees out of the running for Bryce Harper?
Steve Adams
3:43
No way is Brian Cashman going to say "Eh, I have Clint Frazier -- I'm not that interested in Bryce Harper."

Plus, I just don't think Frazier is going to be as good as a lot of Yankee fans are hoping.
Then again, I also thought Aaron Judge would be a solid slugger with a low average and decent-but-not-great OBP. So hey, dream big.
3:45
Sorry -- phone. Seems I'm getting one of those a chat lately! Back

Do the Rockies have any top prospects at Class-A Asheville? Going there in a few weeks and want to know who to look for,
Steve Adams
3:46
Riley Pint is there, I know, but he's been on the DL. Think Ryan Vilade, one of their top picks from '17, is there as well. Can check out their Top Prospects list at MLB.com or Fangraphs for a quick reference. MLB.com's should have what level each is at plus a free scouting report on all their top30

Do you think Buck continues to coach after this year or transitions into a office role?
Steve Adams
3:47
Think there'll be a lot of changes in the front office and in the dugout after this year. I'd bet on him moving into some kind of advisory role.

Are the White Sox a sleeper for Machado or Harper next season or is it a pipedream?  Any chance with the minimal financial commitments now and in the future for both of them??
