Would Keiboom, Antuna, D. Johnson and Voth be enough for Realmuto?
Steve Adams
3:34
If that were enough for JTR, I think the Nats would've acquired him in the offseason.
Thor
3:34
Padres could make that package... how long is Noah under control for?
Steve Adams
3:34
Controlled through 2021

3:34
Kiebooms stock is a lot better than it was in the offseason
Steve Adams
3:34
So is Realmuto's

any talk about a NBATR Chat???
Steve Adams
3:36
Luke over at our sister site, HoopsRumors.com, ran some chats last NBA offseason. Not sure if they're planning on making them a regular thing again, but I'll check in and can get you an answer on that next chat. Check back next week and ask me again.

Who will be leaving Tampa Bay by August 1st?
Steve Adams
3:37
Eovaldi, Ramos, Hechavarria, Gomez ... flip a coin on Archer.

why do our starting pitcher lack so even when we sign free agent pitching
Steve Adams
3:41
Because the Orioles continually sign starting pitchers who are not very good. Gallardo was one of the most obvious regression candidates in recent memory when they signed him. I wrote extensively about how Cobb wasn't worth half of what he was seeking this offseason. Cobb missed fewer bats than all but two starters in 2017, and one of the ones he topped was Cashner.

I don't know why the Orioles operate the way they do, but it was obvious that their pitching was going to be bad heading into the season in each of the past several years.

I still wonder who the hell they thought they were outbidding when they went to 4/57 on Cobb at that point in the offseason. If he'd gotten early on, it wouldn't have surprised me. But by late March when the rest of the league has spent their money and Lynn has already taken 1/12? (Insert shrug emoji)

Do you think DeGrom gets traded?  If so, what kind of return would he net?
Steve Adams
3:42
I don't. But if we're playing the "what if" game, then my answer would be similar to the Syndergaard answer from above.

3:42
If the Mets traded Thor and De Grom wouldnt that speed up the rebuild exponentially?
Steve Adams
3:42
Sure. But they've never said they're rebuilding. Alderson went out of his way to say the opposite recently, in fact. I don't think we'll ever see the Mets or Giants commit to a full rebuild with their current front office compositions.

Why can’t the Reds figure out how to get me in the lineup?
Steve Adams
3:44
He missed almost a month with vertigo symptoms and posted a .670 OPS in his first 10 games back. He's only just now started hitting in his past eight games.
3:45
Brewers just DFA'ed Boone Logan
That signing did not go well

Is it just a rumor or is the Padres and Red Sox actually talking about trade for Brad Hand?
Steve Adams
3:47
Jon Morosi  @jonmorosi
2h
#RedSox interested in upgrading bullpen, but in order to acquire San Diego LHP Brad Hand, source says the #Padres’ likely asking price would be a young everyday player, such as Rafael Devers. @MLBNetwork @MLB

"asking price would LIKELY be young everyday player SUCH AS..."

People tend to run wild with these things, but that was an already weak report from Morosi that has since mutated into something else entirely, it seems.

3:47
Can we do a poll? Who will Machado will traded to in July? Cardinals, Cubs, Yankees, Diamondbacks, Other?
Steve Adams
3:47
I suppose so. I'll add a few more teams just to thin out the "other" votes
3:48
Who will acquire Manny Machado this summer?

Cardinals (10.8% | 53 votes)

Cubs (18.5% | 91 votes)

Yankees (5.5% | 27 votes)

Diamondbacks (6.5% | 32 votes)

Dodgers (13.2% | 65 votes)

Brewers (5.5% | 27 votes)

Phillies (14.9% | 73 votes)

Indians (3.1% | 15 votes)

Braves (13.4% | 66 votes)

Other (8.6% | 42 votes)

Total Votes: 491

It only lets me go up to 10 answers, it seems, so that's the best I can do! Ha.

3:49
Will he (Logan) be traded, released or waived to another team?
Steve Adams
3:49
I imagine he'll be released and sign with another club for the pro-rated minimum. He's been hurt for much of the season and ineffective when healthy.
Alderson
3:50
Do I trade Familia?  And if so, what do I get?
Steve Adams
3:51
Yeah I think he'll be moved. His value isn't entirely dissimilar from that of Herrera ... recent shoulder issue will need to be proved insignificant though.
Peter Angelos
3:51
Better add an "I'll veto" to that poll
Steve Adams
3:51
Ha. You can count that under "other" :)
Answer this!
3:52
Dodgers would be crazy not to sell the farm, literally to pick up DeGrom, it would mean a great chance at a championship and still help for years to come no?
Steve Adams
3:53
To suggest that it's crazy for any one team not to deplete the farm for a pitcher who's already missed time with an ominous injury earlier this season is not a suggestion I'm going to get behind. deGrom is great, but I don't blame any team if they think the Mets' asking price is exorbitant. Because it will (and should) be
Boone
3:53
Logan sounds like a perfect Padres bullpen reclamation project.  Going to need someone to take the spot of Yates/Stammen/Hand in the near future.
Steve Adams
3:54
Those guys all had 4-5 years of control remaining when they were acquired by SD. Logan turns 34 in August and has 10 years of MLB service (11 at season's end). He's not a ong-term option.
Jeffrey Todd Helton
3:54
Wouldn't it make more sense from the Phillies' POV to just wait until the offseason and sign Machado for just money?
Steve Adams
3:55
I think that's true of most teams, but I can see the argument for the Phils that he's more crucial to them since they need every last win they can muster to go for a division title rather than chance a Wild Card berth.
