We've had several current and former write for us, albeit none too recently:

https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/players-perspective

Lots of Tim Dillard things in there -- longtime Brewers minor leaguer -- but we also had Trevor May write about his rehab from Tommy John, Ryan Dennick write about his MLB debut... Burke Badenhop broke down free agency from a reliever's vantage point and also interviewed Tyler Thornburg for us after his trade to Boston. Ryan Spilborghs wrote about Sept. roster expansion for us and clubhouse chemistry, among other things.

Can click that link and scroll for quite a ways to check all of it out.
(Long answer and a shameless plug, ha)

The Brewers are starting Brad Miller at SS today because Arcia has been so pathetic at the plate. They have to make a move there, right? Who is likely to be available, aside from Machado of course?
Steve Adams
3:40
Jose Iglesias, Adeiny Hechavarria, Freddy Galvis all come to mind
Elvis Andrus
Jordy Mercer

I remember wanting my team to sign Chase Headley, a few times.  I'm glad I don't run a baseball team.
Steve Adams
3:42
Headley was fine for the first three years of his deal. He only really cratered this season upon going back to San Diego. He wasn't a star, but he wasn't really paid like one either. He was worth something like 6 wins over the first 3 years of his deal in New York.

Which of these players do I end up trading and what can I expect to get for them: Happ, Estrada, Tepera, Oh, Granderson, Pearce
Steve Adams
3:44
Honestly? All of them, assuming passable health. Doubt any of them fetches much, though, outside of Happ, Tepera and maybe Oh.

Of that group, Tepera is the one who's likeliest to stay because they can keep for another few years after 2018.

Kingham/Keller, Newman/Kramer, Wil Craig, Martin (MiLB OF) for either Met ace?
Steve Adams
3:47
I don't think Kingham and Keller are equal in value (Keller has more), but to your larger point ... I don't think you could get by picking/choosing among the first two pairs listed. Maybe if you offered all four of those first names -- Kingham, Keller, Newman, Kramer -- you might get the Mets' attention, but even that could be light. They're going to want multiple elite prospects for either, and outside of Keller, no one listed there qualifies.

What decent pitcher can the Yanks get without giving up Frazier?
Steve Adams
3:49
JA Happ, Tyson Ross, Cole Hamels ... I don't think any of the main rental SPs would command Clint Frazier in return.

3:49
Who are the almost locks and the maybes to be traded off the Tigers?
Steve Adams
3:51
Liriano and Mike Fiers seem like good bets -- Liriano more just because he's left-handed and will probably have a bit more demand. Greene, Castellanos, Fulmer, Boyd all among the "maybe" group, with Fulmer and Boyd seeming less likely than the other two.
I think Iglesias and Martin will both go.
Fantasy question
3:51
Eaton or Keirmeier ROS?
Steve Adams
3:51
I'll take Eaton between the two
Frazier, my a$$
3:52
Why is everyone so gung ho on Clint Frazier??  Doesnt seem to be more than a middling OF at this time, although Yankee fans deem him as untouchable...like most of thier roster if you ask them....Seems like they want to trade throw away's for studs...whats the deal?
Steve Adams
3:53
Frazier is a former first-round pick and a top 50 prospect who is demolishing Triple-A pitching and has no clear path to the Majors in the Bronx. If you want to judge him based on 140 lackluster PAs as a 22-year-old rookie, go nuts, but that's not how the rest of the league is looking at him.
dEGRom deserves a win.
3:54
Give me the most realistic return on a dEGRom trade ? Specific names that could be involved.
Steve Adams
3:55
The most realistic return is no one, because the most realistic outcome is that he's not traded.

Is Yates or Stammen trade value around Chance Adams or Yadier Alvarez?
Steve Adams
3:55
In a word, no.
Bill
3:55
Will Tyler Wade ever reach the majors, with another team?
Steve Adams
3:56
Doesn't seem like he has a great path to ABs with the Yankees, but I'm sure other clubs would be happy to take him on as a utility option in exchange for some big league help for the Yankees

Angels have a need for BP help and their rotation, although good so far, has a history of recent injuries. What would it take for them to get Greene from the Tigers since they seem to match up often?
Steve Adams
4:00
2.5 years of control left and in line for a decent bump on his $1.95MM salary because yay saves ... I don't look at Greene as all that exciting given his shaky command, so I doubt he brings back any kind of top 100 type of asset. The two sides do line up reasonably well, though ... a guy like Hermosillo would have to be of interest to a Tigers club that is short on MLB-ready OFs, for instance, and the Halos have a pretty crowded OF mix.

Is it just me or is Josh Donaldson one of the most overrated players in recent memories?
Steve Adams
4:02
It's just you. He's was elite from 2013-17 and is injured now, but you can't really hold that against him when looking at his resume.

Does Adam Jones get moved?
Steve Adams
4:03
That's entirely up to him, as he has 10-and-5 rights. I lean toward yes, he'll go somewhere once the O's start dumping everyone else, though. Would be good for him, too, as an impending free agent. I'm sure his representatives have already stressed that to him ... trade gives him a chance to win a ring and also sheds the dreaded qualifying offer. Seems like a good move for him to me.

Slight hint from GM Moore last week that Moose may not get traded and an attempt to resign him in the offseason--"Our fans love to watch him play."  Is he worth more to keep than unload for prospects?
Steve Adams
4:05
He's not hitting anymore, which doesn't help his value. I don't think he's going to fetch a huge return, but I'd deal him anyway. If they want him back again, they can still make him a 3-year offer in the offseason.

Why would Detroit trade Greene for Hermosillo?  if he's not a long-term piece, there's no reason to make the trade, is there?  (not a criticism, just trying to understand the thinking).
