Well, firstly that wasn't a straight-up proposition. Secondly, just because he's not a long-term piece in LAA doesn't mean he wouldn't be in Detroit. The Tigers have a need for MLB-ready OFs, and Hermosillo would fit the bill. But he's not supplanting J-Up or Trout anytime soon, and Calhoun has the contract. He's also going to be competing with Brandon Marsh for MLB reps at a certain point.

This is the danger of speculating on specific names, ha. It was more just a general guideline -- non-elite but solid, MLB-ready piece who is performing in the upper minors but blocked in his current org would make some sense there.

Can’t see the Indians including Shane Bieber in any deal, can you?  Certainly teams will inquire will how quickly he has flown through the system?

I'm sure they'll get plenty of inquiries. I could see it if they were trying to acquire a more proven starter, but I agree that he's tough for them to trade at this point.

Mets just announced a recurrence of cancer detected in Sandy Alderson. He's undergoing surgery and taking a leave of absence. John Ricco, Omar Minaya and JP Ricciardi taking the baseball ops reins.
Prognosis reportedly good for him, at least.
