Bellinger & Stroman shipped to Dodgers for Gavin Stone & Bush....is the return enough for Cubbies?
Steve Adams
1:27
I don't think the Dodgers would give that up
Eric

I know they're  not too far out but this Yankees team seems uninspiring and  inconsistent. The offense is laughable l know they won't  do this but should they just sell off some of their rentals  that have the slightest bit of value and just gear up for 2024 and give the kids a chance to play out the 2nd half?
Steve Adams
1:28
I think it'd be perfectly defensible to take a step back and is very arguably the prudent move. That doesn't mean they'll do it, of course. I expect them to add pieces.

Can you tell the folks over at MLB Network there's practically a 0% chance of the Royals trading Perez?
Steve Adams
1:28
Man oh man do they love talking about trading Salvador Perez, despite his full no-trade clause and GM JJ Picollo saying he has no intention of trading Salvy.
1:29
Must draw good ratings or something. But yeah, I'll be floored if Perez is moved and don't think it's really worth talking about.

Is Nick Senzel enough to get Giolito or Lynn?
Steve Adams
1:30
No, which is a pretty sad statement for Reds fans given his draft status and former prospect pedigree. Injuries have just clobbered him.

Pirates shopping KeBryan Hayes? to the Yankees for Austin Wells?
Steve Adams
1:31
No, I don't see them putting Hayes out there

Giolito & Middleton plus cash to the Braves for a AJ Smith Shuster type SP. Who says no?
Steve Adams
1:33
I think AJSS as a headliner in a Giolito/Middleton deal is a realistic ask for the White Sox. I'm not sure the Braves are going to be keen on further thinning out a depleted farm for a pair of rentals, but that's a reasonable starting point

The Rangers have to get at least one more relief arm, right handed ideally. They also need another mid rotation starter. Who are some teams CY should target for conversations.
Steve Adams
1:34
White Sox have both SP/RP to offer. Guardians. Cardinals.

Fantasy baseball question here: In a dynasty League - would you trade Nico Hoerner for Dylan Cease knowing you can fill 2B with Bryson Stott?
Steve Adams
1:35
Depends on the league format I suppose, but in most formats I'd much prefer Cease anyway, and if you have Stott to move into 2B, that only makes it easier.
Jay's all the way someday
1:36
Why is nobody talking about the surging Jays and possible contenders for AL East division winners
Steve Adams
1:37
The Jays are good. I picked them to win the AL East prior to the season. Disappointing first half, but yeah, they're in the mix in the division still

Who has more value for a Cardinal return, Montgomery or Flaherty?
Steve Adams
1:38
Montgomery by a good margin

For what it's worth, my pick is Milwaukee. I love the Reds' core of young hitters but the pitching just needs so much help. I'm having a ton of fun following them this summer though because it's just insane to me how good they've been despite no help from the rotation (Abbott excluded).

Milwaukee gonna trade Burnes despite being in 1st?
Steve Adams
1:42
I don't think so, no. I can see them listening to offers this winter, but the rotation is already pretty banged up and thinning it out with basically a sequel to the Josh Hader trade seems unlikely. Hader was sort of approaching the AAV at which he's near the top of the pay scale for his position; that's not the case with Burnes at all.

Is Encanacion-Strand in the majors to showcase him for a trade to get a front-line starter?
Steve Adams
1:43
He's in the majors because they put an infielder on the IL and because he's mashed in AAA and they're looking for ways to make the team better while they look for pitching.

I think the idea of "showcasing" a prospect for a trade is largely antiquated. Every team has seen CES extensively in the minors; I don't think a couple good MLB weeks is going to wildly improve or decrease his stock in the eyes of other clubs.

How warm is Jed Hoyer's seat?  Are him or Ross in jeopardy of losing their jobs this offseason?
Steve Adams
1:45
This is the first season they've really tried to put a decent team on the field. They'd be in bigger trouble post-2024 if they were experiencing similar results to 2023.

Giolito Sale Paxton Crawford Pivetta rotation … looks pretty formidable. Why not go for it ?
Steve Adams
1:48
Pivetta is thriving in the 'pen; they're not going to put him back in the rotation. Sale is injured and out into next month at least. Paxton's injury prone as well.

Sure you can add Giolito, but I don't think it makes the Red Sox as formidable as you do. Bello should be listed in there though! He's good

From 12 over to 12 under - Bucs are now sellers. What would Santana/Choi/Hill bring in return?
Steve Adams
1:50
Not much. The Pirates will sell some veterans but I'm not expecting big returns that move the needle much for the org. They'd need to put Keller or Bednar out there if they wanted a major haul (or a controllable young prospect, but that seems even less likely) -- and I don't think that's happening.

Will we get Arenado or a couple of pitchers
Steve Adams
1:50
Arenado has no-trade protection and has said repeatedly he wants to stay in St Louis.

Will Giolito bring back a top 10 prospect?
Steve Adams
1:51
In the game? No. In someone's system? Sure

Who do I fire at the end of this season? Who's the lamb gonna be?
Steve Adams
1:52
Nevin's on a one-year deal anyway, so I'd imagine they're hunting for a new manager if they miss the playoffs
