Is there any realism to the Blackmon rumors?
Steve Adams
3:32
Jeff's entire post on the matter is an explanation of why such a deal is extraordinarily unlikely.
Steve
3:33
There is room on the 40 man for Correa, but will Tony Kemp survive the 25 man roster crunch when he returns and the Astros need a fifth starter again or is he destined to be a DFA  placement like Tyler White.
Steve Adams
3:33
Could be traded to a club with more playing time -- doesn't need to be a DFA necessarily. He's been more productive than White was and has more defensive value.
Trey Mancini
3:33
Should the Wild Card play in game be changed to a 3 game series?
Steve Adams
3:34
I've said in the past -- sign me up for that.
Jason
3:34
The New York Mets will trade _____________________________ before the deadline.
Steve Adams
3:34
Vargas, Frazier and Wheeler -- I still think they'll trade Wheeler as long as he comes out of this weekend's start healthy.

Is Deikman the only trade candidate worth anything (besides Whit...) on the Royals roster?
Steve Adams
3:37
Again, Ian Kennedy would bring something decent back if the Royals ate a significant portion of the deal (~75%). Hamilton will get some mediocre PTBNL type of return (or just some salary relief). There's not much beyond that.
Well, Merrifield would bring a huge haul, as you refrenced.
3:38
Yonder Alonso joining the Rockies at the MLB level after signing a minor league deal and spending a bit of time in AAA. (All the Rox beat writers are tweeting he's at the clubhouse)

3:39
Do u think the braves will make JD a 2 yr 50 mil to stay in Atlanta
Steve Adams
3:40
Depends how viable they believe Riley's glove is in left field. At the very least he's an easy qualifying offer to make
Jasssssson Dominguez
3:40
How excited are you for the 2021 Rookie of the year?
Steve Adams
3:41
Almost as excited as I was for Kevin Maitan, 2019 Rookie of the Year
Or Lazaro Armenteros, the next (but better and younger) Yoenis Cespedes.
3:43
Hats off to Dominguez's reps for the PR work they did in the media, but getting super excited about 16-year-old bonus babies is going to lead to disappointment more often than not.

Not saying Dominguez won't make it, but we see huge media pushes about these kids every year because their agents or people with the team make a big push for it. It sets outlandish expectations on them that aren't fair to put on any teenager. It's tired.

do you see the nats adding anybody or standing pat?
Steve Adams
3:44
I will be shocked if they don't add a reliever.
At least one

3:45
Do you ever go out to any St.Paul Saints games?
Steve Adams
3:45
I can walk to the stadium. Yeah. I love me a good indie ball game -- CHS Field is nice, too

3:46
What does minor bring in return?
Steve Adams
3:46
Should bring at least one top 50 type of prospect back and a couple other solid pieces.
NL ROY
3:46
Who you got?
Steve Adams
3:47
Tossup between Alonso and Tatis for me. Tatis has been better on a per-game basis but missed time and has benefited from an insane BABIP that he can't sustain, so his bat will probably regress. Way more defensive value though.

No need to make a call right now -- final two months will be telling.

What are the odds that the Tigers trade Zimmerman?
Steve Adams
3:48
Zero? No one's touching that contract
Josh
3:49
If the Giants trade Bumgarner, would they consider trading Buster Posey? I have been pondering Mad Bum, Will Smith & Posey to Atlanta for who knows what.
Steve Adams
3:50
Posey has full no-trade rights, and his contract would wildly complicate any deal even if he were amenable to it (which I don't believe he is)
Weenie
3:50
What could Domingo Ssntana bring back in a trade?
Steve Adams
3:51
Probably not as much as Mariners fans would hope. The defense drags down his value, and clubs haven't paid premiums for corner outfielders in recent seasons.
Dog man
3:51
Would anyone be interested in Aaron Sanchez?
Steve Adams
3:53
Everything comes down to asking price. He'd be instaclaimed on waivers. Any team would happily trade a C-level prospect for him. Etc.

I doubt the Jays would just dump him though. They'd want something decent back, and that's a tough sell with his struggles (both on the field and with blisters/nail issues)
Matt
3:54
When do you think Isan Diaz will get the call?
Steve Adams
3:54
When can the Marlins rid themselves of Starlin Castro?
Matt Harvey
3:55
Where do I end up? Philadelphia might be a nice place?
Steve Adams
3:55
I doubt any team that wants to contend is going there. Maybe the Tigers just because they need innings?

If a Twins team wants to go for it, does a Kiriloff-Lewis package for Thor, Diaz, and Familia make sense for everyone?  Twins desperately need an impact arm in the rotation and bullpen help.
