Even if he reaches the market, he's the rare player where I'd pick his incumbent team over the field. I just can't see him leaving.

If Andrelton Simmons were put on waivers today, which club (if any) would make a successful waiver claim?
Steve Adams
2:59
No one would claim him.
He's still owed $2.64MM between now and season's end.
And he's hitting .215/.280/.274.

I thought the Simmons signing was a good deal at the time, but it's been an abject bust. I'm surprised the Twins haven't just released him by now and given the at-bats to younger players.

Can I find a team that can take Heyward's, Hendrick's and Contreras's contracts off my hands this offseason?
Steve Adams
3:01
There's no reason to lump the three together, Hendricks and Contreras have quite a bit of positive trade value. You could move both quite easily and get a nice prospect return for doing so.
3:02
Heyward, not without taking on another poor contract in return. Could try to swap him out for Hosmer or something... similar overall guarantees remaining on the deals, but Hoz is spread out over more years because his contract was front-loaded.

Do the White Sox extend Rodon or do you think he hits FA?
Steve Adams
3:03
I think it's at least viable that he's extended. The whole "Boras guys never sign" is becoming increasingly easy to refute. Bogaerts did it a couple years ago. Schoop did it a couple weeks ago.

I still think it's likelier that Rodon goes to market and hopes to cash in on a major deal (four or five years), but the Sox know him best, gave him this year's chance, etc.
Giants!

C'mon. Bryant would be nuts to not jump at Rendon money.
Steve Adams
3:05
You can draw your own conclusions about whether it's wise, but I believe he'd turn it down.

Alright -- I've got to wrap this up for the week. I'm on Twitter @Adams_Steve for more questions if you like. Thanks so much for participating, as always, and enjoy the rest of your week!
