I wholly expect them to try to do so. No reason not to with the way he's played there. And I don't think he's played himself to the point where he's going to be too expensive for them or anything.

Any thoughts on less expanded rosters after Sept. 1 next year? I can understand people claiming too many relievers make games drag on, but would rebuilding teams rather see their younger players on the 40-man in September? Also seems like some sneaky service time manipulation, but that's just me.

I think some players will inevitably get a bit screwed by smaller September rosters. Every year there are some journeyman types who make a September roster and get more money than they'd make in a season in Triple-A, get a chance to soak in the MLB experience, etc. That won't be as common now. And some prospects will see their initial MLB looks pushed back a bit, too, which is also a shame.

But I also never really understood why the final month of the season had completely different roster construction rules than the rest of the year. I like that they're crunching down on it, personally. I think it was overdue.

Bargain signing by Astros entering age 33 season in 2020. Am I crazy to see 3 Yrs $36M. See better value than Keuchel / Hamels.

I don't think Miley's getting three years at 33 years old. I could see him landing something like 2/22.

I know they have new  rules concerning collups  In september. How many extra players can you have this year?

Nothing this year. It shifts to 28-man rosters beginning in 2020.
