What happened to the Twins this year.  We made moves we thought would be competitive and it backfired.  With the previous fire sale we had should we also consider changing generals(Molitor)?

There was no way they could fire Molitor when he won AL Manager of the Year last season. Their hands were completely tied from that perspective. They'd have been torched by the media, fans, etc. It's a much smaller-scale version of the situation in which they found themselves with Mauer headed into his walk year in the first season of a new stadium and fresh off an AL MVP award

As for their disastrous season -- Ervin not pitching basically at all, Sano and Buxton being injured for a huge portion of the season (or playing through injuries) ... if you'd have told me in March that by the All-Star break they'd have literally 0 positive value from that trio, I'd have called their season toast as well. I think anyone would have.
