I'm assuming McCullers, Greinke, Garcia  and Framber, yeah. Not necessarily in that order. They did some tandem starts in the playoffs last year, too, so I wouldn't entirely rule that out.

Is a Soto blockbuster a possibility this winter?
Steve Adams
2:35
I don't think so, no. I don't expect the Nats to go into some full-scale tear down. I don't necessarily find an extension likely, but I think it's likelier they make some precedent-setting offer than they trade him with so much control remaining.

2:36
After the Big 3 who is Milw #4 starter in a 7 game series: Houser or Lauer?
Steve Adams
2:36
I doubt they'd make any such declaration. At that point, it'd be based on matchup, recent pitcher usage, etc.
2:37
Dear lord the Yankees brought Sal Romano back for the umpteenth time. Brooks Kriske DFA'ed. Romano is the new David Hale.
Also the A's DFA'ed Burch Smith and selected Domingo Acevedo.

Tigers in the playoffs next year?
Steve Adams
2:39
I just think it's too soon for that to be realistic. They'll spend some money this winter, but we can't just assume Greene, Torkelson and the rest will hit the ground running. Some of the pitchers still need to develop a bit more. They'll turn a corner and be improved, but playoffs are a big reach.

I guess never say never, particularly when we don't know what they'll do this offseason, but 2023-24 is likelier.
Adley & Co.
2:40
When do Orioles fans get the future in 2022?
Steve Adams
2:41
Doubt you see Adley on Opening Day, but 2-3 weeks into the season maybe he'll be ready, ha.

Of course, the new CBA could do away with that sort of tinkering. If that's the case, he should be the Opening Day catcher.
Frank DiPino Jr.
2:43
Does Franmil Reyes take the next step in 2022, or is this his ceiling?
Steve Adams
2:44
It's 70-grade raw power for Reyes, so sure we could see him push the home run totals north a bit. I don't know that there's tons of room for K-BB growth, though, and the defense (or lack thereof) is what it is.

Which teams are, realistically, going to be in the SS market this winter (assuming there is an FA market)?  Yanks, Cardinals,  Angels, LAD (for anyone other than Seager tho?), Houston (?), anyone else?  Seems like huge supply and little demand will make it really hard for a bunch of really good players to get the contracts they deserve.
Steve Adams
2:47
Yankees, Angels, Blue Jays, Twins, Tigers, Rangers, Mariners, Phillies, Nats all seem like they'll be in the mix. Reds, too, if they're not sold on Barrero at shortstop (though they should probably just give him an audition there next year)
Charles "Chuck" Rainey
2:48
All I want for Christmas is a healthy Kyle Lewis.
Steve Adams
2:49
Agree -- an eventual outfield with Lewis, Kelenic and Julio Rodriguez has potential to be tons of fun, and Lewis was great to watch last year when he finally turned a corner and got past the injury bug. He's rapidly piling up injuries, though, which is worrisome for his long-term outlook.
Clayton Kershaw
2:50
Dodgers give Max Scherzer 3 years for 115 million would he take it?
Steve Adams
2:51
I'd be pretty surprised if he didn't. That's an AAV record and about as long of a contract as he can reasonably expect to be guaranteed at 37
Morgs13
2:51
SS, or CF. Which position should Phillies prioritize in FA market?
Steve Adams
2:52
Both? But there are more options at shortstop, so easier to focus there. In center you're basically just looking at Starling Marte.
Braves fan
2:52
What would have to happen for Braves to legally be able to veto ozuna deal
Steve Adams
2:54
We haven't seen any recent contracts get vetoed for suspensions under the domestic violence policy. If he went to prison, which doesn't sound likely at all since his charges were reduced and he recently entered an intervention program, they could keep him on the restricted list like the Pirates are doing with Felipe Vazquez.

They won't owe Ozuna anything for the time he's suspended, but there's no real precedent for them being spared the remainder of the contract.
Pujols salary decrease
2:54
Do you think Pujols might decide to retire once he's faced with the reality his salary will go down about 95%?
Steve Adams
2:55
Doubt he'll care. He's 21 homers from 700 right now. I'm sure he'd like to get there.
Eggs
2:55
Kerchup on eggs ok?
Steve Adams
2:55
Gross. You do you and eat how you like, but not for me.
Dan Gladden
2:55
No way the Twins are this bad, right?
Steve Adams
2:56
No, they're not as bad as they've shown in 2021. Or at least, the roster they broke camp with this season wasn't that bad. But with Berrios gone and Maeda out for 2022, it's a rough outlook. Joe Ryan has looked sharp in his debut. Bailey Ober is promising. They're going to need multiple arms this winter, plus some help at shortstop and big steps forward in '22 from Kirilloff and/or Larnach.
Todd
2:57
Do you tender Syndegaard a qualifying offer?
Steve Adams
2:58
I would, even with all the missed time. Healthy, he's worth it. And if he's not healthy, the Mets can afford to take the hit.

2:58
If braves sign freeman do they have the money to go after S marte?
Steve Adams
3:00
They have $84MM on the books next year and an arb class that is large but lacks too many notable raises (Dansby, Riley excluded). They could afford both, especially if you backload one or both of them. But they also have Acuna, Pache, Waters and will probably keep Duvall, so not sure spending $16-20MM per year on Marte -- which is what he should be making -- would be a priority.
Mad Max

Any chance I sign with halos?
Steve Adams
3:00
Obvious west coast preference at the deadline, and the Halos have a lot of cash. Sure, there's a chance.
Orioles
3:01
Do the Orioles pull a 2019 Padres (Machado/Tatis) and sign a major young Free agent bat (Correa) to help guide a budding super star (Rustchman) and launch the franchise back into prominence? The Ellias Correa connection could come in handy
Steve Adams
3:03
I think Elias would probably have liked to have spent more than the combined $6MM or so he's shelled out in free agency over the past two winters, but that's likely not his call. I don't think he's going to suddenly sell ownership on a Correa mega-deal, even though I'm sure Elias is a fan of Correa dating back to his Houston days
Angels
3:03
What does a realistic Raisel Iglesias extension look like? 3 yrs, $45M?
Steve Adams
3:03
I think he'd be pretty tempted by that, yeah

Odds NL has a DH in 2022?
