Will SF make Samardzjia available? What would he bring back. Would Ian Happ get the Cubs Samardzjia? Would either team do that deal.

Giants are planning to contend next season so I doubt they shop Shark around much. And Samardzija has said he wants to stay in SF anyhow, and he's got a pretty significant no-trade clause. I don't think the Cubs would give Happ for him anyhow.

Reds have to try to lock Suarez up in a deal similar to Barnharts , dont they ? I know it will be for more than sixteen !

I don't think $16MM even covers his arb years, and if you're going to pry a free-agent year away, it'd probably have to be worth $13MM+. He'll be tougher to extend anyhow, since his skills will be rewarded nicely by arbitration. He's already looking at something like $4MM+ next season, with steady and significant increases from that point before hitting free agency as a 29-year-old. I'd need to sit down and look at his case more closely, but I don't think he's sign for only a four-year guarantee (especially not with an option), and I think it could realistically cost at least 3x the Barnhart deal -- probably more like 4x+.
