Though Kevin Slowey's brother did a few posts one year...

I saw Bobby Hill at an Applebee's once. He appreciated my generous tip.

Jameson Tallion and Senga are the 2 arms that interest me. Jed has already said flat out he's not going for a TOR arm like Rodon an DeGrom which is fine with me.
Tim Dierkes
10:27
Jed did not say that flat-out...I'd say Wittenmyer kind of interpreted it that way.
10:28
I think it’s important that we continue to add quality innings. We’re actively looking for quality innings, pitchers we feel like we can work with and potentially make better.
Does "potentially make better" mean Rodon is out?  Gordon thinks so.  I already gave my thoughts on Rodon, but I think he's reading a bit too much into it.
10:29
Taillon is fine and I can easily see the Cubs engaging there.
Rejected Autographs
10:29
I saw Jeremy Roenick at the Chicago Rainforest Cafe. He got swarmed by a bunch of kids asking for an autograph and told them all “eff off” (but without my edit)
More fan encounters
10:29
Not a Cub story...but I saw Barry Bonds in a St. Louis hotel lobby at 1 am many years ago. He got mobbed by me and my drunk friends but couldn't have been nicer. Signed autographs, posed for pictures, shot the breeze, etc.
Abreu rumor
10:29
Bruce Levine is the only person I've heard even hinting at this rumor. Maybe it's just something he wants to see happen?

I just think it's too early for that rumor to really even make sense as a thing that has a lot of meaning and made it to Bruce.  Like I said, there's no agent contact going on.  So unless someone high up in the Cubs front office told Bruce Abreu is a top target, it's worth cooling our jets on this one.
I think we may be rumor-starved and making too much of that one
deGrom
10:30
Very rarely do players take less money to be “closer to home”. If the Nats offered deGrom 4/300, he’d be in DC
Tim Dierkes
10:31
Well, players routinely leave the biggest offer on the table because of geographic preferences.  Charlie Morton, for example.  It happens every winter.  Justin Verlander took a guarantee of 1/25, essentially.

I'm going to stop here.  Thanks to everyone for joining, we had over 200 people in the chat.
