Yes or no Texas State goes to Omaha this year?
Joe Healy
2:39
That would be fun, so yeah, let's say yes.

My wife (a proud Texas State grad) would love this a lot. Imagine the party on the San Marcos River if this occurred!

Glad to see the Big Ten doing so well.  I'm a Gopher fan.  Excited about the pitching.  Maybe the competition wasn't the greatest but 2 straight shutouts
Joe Healy
2:42
Consider me intrigued by the Gophers. It's been a rough ride the last few years for the program, so I'm happy for them that they're off to a strong start. The two straight shutouts were impressive, and I'm still high on Cole Selvig even if he didn't have a great start over the weekend.

Not the most convincing weekend from Miss State but I think this is one of those teams who truly get better every single week with so much new on this team
Joe Healy
2:43
This is the correct way to think about Mississippi State, I think. It's just going to take time for this roster to come together, but it's so talented that I'm certain it'll come together in a big way at some point. If the Bulldogs aren't competing at the top of the SEC by the time it's all said and done this season I'll be very surprised.

Ab=ny surprises out of the Mountain West this weekend?
Joe Healy
2:45
I have to admit that I was a little surprised that Fresno State dropped its home series to Utah. I thought that was a golden opportunity for the Bulldogs to capture a series against a power-conference opponent and get off to a strong start. On a positive note, I was pleasantly surprised to see New Mexico blow Fordham off the field in four straight games, including three games in which it run-ruled the Rams. I get that it's a very offensive environment in ABQ, but still, that's impressive.

What’s your take on the Jax tournament after seeing the first weekend?
Kendall Rogers
2:45
Michael Wilkins -- Just intrigued to see LSU's depth on display against that field. For me, it's a good measuring stick because UCF played well opening weekend, Notre Dame is a borderline regional team coming into the season and has some high-level talent, and Indiana is scary. Yes, the Hoosiers were swept by North Carolina, but that is still a team I'm buying stock on -- at least in the B1G.

If UCLA wins every series can they get a Top 8 National Seed? I think so
Joe Healy
2:46
Of course, and as a matter of fact, I'll guarantee that if UCLA wins every series on its schedule it will be a top eight seed.

Can UTSA host a Regional if they dominate Conference Play?
Joe Healy
2:47
Unless the minor league schedule allows UTSA to host a regional at the stadium of the Double-A San Antonio Missions, I don't think the program has the facilities to pull it off, unfortunately.

LSU posted a 118 exit velocity and I am hearing it is a national thing.  What are your thoughts?
Joe Healy
2:49
I'm not sure exactly what you mean by a "national thing," but I can tell you that coaches are increasingly concerned by the rising exit velocities in college baseball, because 118 mph is a velocity that you don't even really see at the big league level with regularity. The fear is that a pitcher is going to get hurt by a line drive back at him.

Thoughts on Frogs at UCLA this weekend in LA?
Kendall Rogers
2:51
I know the final game against Oklahoma was a stinker, but I came away feeling pretty good about the Frogs to be honest. Brassfield looked solid against a good team, LaPour is going to be a safe bet, and Noah Franco shifted to another gear on the mound on Saturday. I thought his fastball was electric up to 98, and the slider was filthy as well. The slider looked better than it did for me in a scrimmage against A&M in the fall. Offensively, absolutely love what I saw in Lucas Franco throughout the weekend. What a great looking frame, actions, speed and overall bat. He's a stud.

I think Texas A&M might have a bounce back season this year what do you think?
Kendall Rogers
2:54
I still have some question marks about A&M's pitching staff, but there's zero doubt the Aggies are going to hit at a pretty good club this spring. Gavin Grahovac had a nice return, Caden Sorrell was his usual self, and Wesley Jordan stood out to me. I thought he was a nice transfer addition, but he was pretty impressive over the weekend. The other thing that stood out to me was the physicality of freshmen such as Boston Kellner and Nico Partida. Those guys do not look like freshmen in the box.

Thoughts on Nebraska?
Joe Healy
2:55
Well, as we speak, Stanford has a 6-0 lead on the Huskers, but even with that, it has been an impressive first weekend for them. Anytime the team is batting nearly .400 as a group, you're doing something right. I've also been impressed by the depth of the bullpen. In 10.2 innings thrown by the Huskers' bullpen, that group has allowed just one run. I'll see Nebraska with my own eyes this weekend at Globe Life Field and I'm fired up for it.

a couple podcasts mentioned that the exit velocity analytics from the MLB parks were very high.
Joe Healy

Ahh, okay, I see what you mean. That's interesting; I've not heard that myself, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's untrue.

How are your feeling about the Big West after the first weekend
Kendall Rogers
2:57
So far so good for the top of the league. I think we all know UCI and Cal Poly are going to be good, and obviously we are pretty high on UCSB as well. Flora/Aceves and potentially Proskey will be a strong rotation. That series with USM was an absolute battle, and I thought the Gauchos performed admirably in a tough environment. I think the top of the league will be pretty solid, which is honestly great to see.

Who are you taking to win Round Rock this weekend?
Joe Healy
2:59
With the way they played over the weekend, give me Southern Miss to win it, and I'll also just say that I love that they're playing in this tournament because typically that's been a program that doesn't play in a lot of tournaments. That said, Oregon State is going to be tough as well with what will be the best starting rotation in the field. Ethan Kleinschmit against the USM lineup on Saturday should be a ton of fun. I also wouldn't overlook Baylor, which played well in a sweep of New Mexico State over the weekend.

What was your impression of WVU freshman closer David Perez ? Guy was dynamic and a future star
Kendall Rogers
3:00
Looks like a pretty big arm for sure. Got swings and misses with that heater, which was up to 94-95 mph on the radar gun. Pretty small sample size, but it's safe to say that WVU isn't hurting for arms.

I think Texas might have one of the best pitching staffs what do you think?
Joe Healy
3:00
Definitely, especially with Dylan Volantis pitching as well as he did on Sunday. Riojas, Harrison, Volantis, in whatever order, is a pretty nasty weekend rotation.

Is Jackson Flora is the best pitcher in the country?
Joe Healy
3:02
I think I'd still take Cam Flukey as the best pitcher in the country, but he certainly helped his cause with the way he pitched against USM over the weekend. What he almost certainly is, though, is 1B to Flukey's 1A in terms of the best pitching prospect in college baseball.

Time to be concerned about LSU Pitcher Casan Evans after a rough start on Opening Day?
