Iowa just got off to a rough start this season and racked up some stinky wins, but the committee will be in quite a dilemma if the Hawkeyes win the Big Ten regular season title as the No. 5 RPI conference but still have an RPI in the 60s or something. I think it would be similar to that year Washington won the Pac 12 and made the tourney with an RPI in the 60 range. That's my best comp for this situation. I think they'd get in if they win the regualr season crown, personally.

Would you like a rule that said you have to finished at least 500 in your conference to make an at large bit
Kendall Rogers
1:35
I would not. I don't think all conferences are created equal, and the fact that we've had teams recently finish below .500 in their conference and either go on runs to Omaha or win the national title tells me all I need to know about that potential rule.

Does TXST have a chance for at-large or is there not enough RPI left on schedule to get them there?
Kendall Rogers

Will need to win the Sun Belt tournament. There's enough talent present for the Bobcats to be very dangerous in Montgomery, too. Their struggles have been rather shocking to me.

What do you think about Oklahoma State as of now? Bubble? Completely out of the running for an at-large
Kendall Rogers
1:39
Bubble team for sure with an RPI of 48. I think I would predict OSU to find a way to make the NCAA tournament, but it's very much up in the air right now. I'm gonna say OSU wins four out of its last five league series. If that happens, OSU will be in the NCAA tourney.

Bruins have been great all season, but now have their most difficult part of the schedule coming up...vs. Oregon State, @ Oregon, @ UCI...if they can come out of that in decent shape (3-4 wins?)...will that place them anywhere near the top 8 discussion?
Kendall Rogers
1:45
Shane -- if the Bruins win series over Oregon and UC Irvine, there's a good chance they won't lose a series all-season long. If that happens the RPI will probably be in a very good spot and probably Top 8 worthy.

Is Dylan Volantis the best reliever in the country? At least the best freshman out of the pen? Thoughts on Texas bullpen as we reach the 4th quarter of the season.
Kendall Rogers

Volantis is having not only a Freshman All-American season, but an overall All-American season for sure. I'm a massive fan. Not only is he just a really tough look from a different angle, the slider is just terrorizing to lefthanded hitters. My favorite part of him might be the fact that he always seems to have a very steady heartbeat. He's mature beyond his years and it shows.

Who is a guy you love this year? Especially someone who is higher on your personal draft board than the “consensus” board?
Kendall Rogers

I am higher on Nolan Schubart and Jared Spencer than some socuts are for sure. I think Schubart and Spencer were in the mid-50s in our rankings, and I think Schubart will be a stud at the professional ranks, and Spencer, albeit older, has been terrific across the board this season with premium velocity. At worst, Spencer is a really nice bullpen piece for a Major League team in the near future.
